  1. I just noticed that soxtalk.com is up 2852% in yahoo searches, #3 on the list of daily jumps, right up there with "celebrity pregnancies" and "mountain unicycling." I find this very random to say the least...does anyone know why? Were we mentioned in a national newspaper?

I need somewhere to post these pictures online. Thus.... My wonderful pets. Post yours too, if you want. Let's make a thread out of it.
  3. $34 each face value (negotiable). Best offer gets them. Section 122 Row 16. ACT FAST! I'm leaving in 5 minutes.
  4. I've only pitched in park district leagues, but it definitely carries over. Certain catchers don't know how to get onto the same frequency as their pitchers, and I have experienced it before.
  5. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) On Comcast about 15 minutes, KW was acting as a Comcast reporter and interviewed Buehrle, he said that it went from 4-6 weeks yesterday to day to day today. That sounds like good news, straight from Buerhle and KW. Most excellent. Oh and maggsmaggs....nice avatar.
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) Dont worry this turd of a reporter will be swearing how he predicted that the sox would be the team to beat come August if we are in first. These are almost getting comical. Another Moronic prediction 3. White Sox It's been another unfocused and generally harmful off-season for GM Kenny Williams. They achieved a nifty upgrade with the A.J. Pierzynski signing, but the Carlos Lee trade will be a low-grade disaster. Jermaine Dye was not a sage addition, and the small-ball tactics of manager Ozzie Guillen will hurt the offensive attack. The rotation is a potential strength in terms of its one-through-five depth, but there's little else to get excited about. Frank Thomas' health concerns are another source of concern. Another garden-variety 82-win season is probably in the offing. They're the quintessence of a third-place club without a real prayer of winning the division. This is the worst one yet. Absolutely pathetic. Where have these guys been living the last 6 months? Sox acqusitions never once mentioned: Hernandez Iguchi Hermanson Podsednik & Vizcaino (not by name)
  7. QUOTE(hi8is @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) thats probably the grade we got because we have some ingury prone players, some players who had carrer years who need to prove it wasnt a fluke, and some players who had really bad years yet have the tallent to do better. So let me get this straight...a really good year might be a fluke so it's a grade of C...a really bad year is not up to potential so it's a C...so what's an A then? an average year? Very interesting reasoning these people have...
  8. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) WhiteSoxCentral.com is set to be launched on April 1st. If anyone would like to contribute anything at all, e-mail me at [email protected] . All the writers are set, but if anyone would still like a chance, e-mail me a 200 word minimum piece on absolutely anything to prove that you can write. I am not looking for part time writers, full time for 1-2 articles/week. As far as the writers that are already set, please e-mail me so I can give you details on what to due for the upcoming launch. Sorry, I'd e-mail you, but the addresses are lost amoungst 100's of others. Thank you. God I wish I had time for that...I think I'd be good too but unfortunately I'm too busy in April, May and September with schoolwork and I have three fantasy baseball leagues to pay attention to April-September...
  9. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) I used to feel the same way. Rogers used to be one of the best. However since he became the Cubs beat writer at the halfway point of last season, I've noticed a very distinct change in his point of view. These guys are complete idiots. Not just them, but all Chicago media covering the Ordonez and Sosa soaps. In my eyes the media is most at fault (with Ordonez a close second) for making this a huge deal. These guys [shammy and jagglio] are no different now than any opposing player. They merit absoultely zero coverage in the Chicago media until they do something worthwhile on the field (in other words, never).

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) Welcome, there are never enough Seinfeld avatars! Enough Seinfeld avatars? Such a concept does not exist "Giddyup!!"

    Hey guys

QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Welcome from one "double agent" to another! Just in case you weren't aware, green here = teal there. We don't even have a teal option here. Oh, and we can f***ing curse any goddamned time we motherf***ing feel like it! SO.......enjoy the cursing and political/religious debates! hahaha excellent, the critic. I'm sure there a bunch of WSI castoffs as well as WSI veterans. I'm approaching Church Elder status over there, but I know for a fact Jabroni posted here when he was banned for a month there. PA, I consider myself a right-leaning moderate. I'm extreme on some issues (abortion) but on most of them it's just an inclination to the right (SS, taxes, war). I also lean left on a few (environment), but not as many as the right. I would have voted for Bush if I had been old enough.
