  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) And yet, which President gets remembered as a bumbling fool for falling down the air force 1 stairs? Ford must have hated Chevy Chase.
  2. He was pre-1976, but I think Ford was a solid president. He came in at a tough time and really didn't do anything too stupid. The worst of the bunch is Reagan. See Central America.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 11:39 AM) I'll be there Thursday and Friday next week for work. Trying to figure out what to do as well. You could always join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 02:30 PM) and one more... What the hell does sodomy and socialism have in common? Besides good conversation starters.

    QUOTE (Stocking @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 02:31 PM) any 9 reviews? I saw this over the weekend. Not bad. Not the greatest thing ever, but solid. Its got that whole Matrix, man vs machine thing going on.
  7. Dear Mr. Hudson. The Twins are stupid and no one likes them. Beat them and people will throw flower petals at your feet.
  8. I think any pitching we get back will be younger. I don't think anyone would trade major league ready pitching. I think we have a better chance of getting a power hitting corner outfielder.

    QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 09:21 AM) You can dabble in both the high-brow and low-brow of cinema fandom. I certainly do. I liked Citizen Kane. I also dabble. I just prefer the low brow stuff.

    QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) I pretty much rate Citizen Kane right alongside 2001: A Space Odyssey. Both films bore me to tears and I have no desire to see either one ever again. But with that being said, keep in mind that I own numerous copies of every Godzilla made, plus most of the Japanese Kaiju films. I have no use for "artsy" b.s., and never had much tolerance for it. I'm the same way. I'm sure Citizen Kane is a really well made movie and has lots of deep meaning, but give me Dawn of the Dead any day of the week.

    Adeventureland was good. The music in the movie was really good. Has anyone seen the remake of Last House on the Left?
  12. NSFW. Keep f***ing that chicken.
  13. Kenya is a mostly christian nation. You could tell that guy that, but I don't think he would get it.
  14. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) Seems nobody wanted to chime in on a thread involving necrophilia. Weird. . . Two thoughts: 1) I don't think the exhibits are technically depicting necrophilia since both parties to the depicted sex acts are deceased. 2) I really like the plastination body exhibits (I've seen exhibits by both major companies doing the installations), but very much dislike the decision to depict bodies having sex if this means that more museums will decide not to book the exhibit. I took both my kids to see the BODIES exhibit when it came to the MOSI in Tampa. It was outstanding, it prompted healthy debate about the ethics and educational pros and cons of an exhibit like this, and it brought in enough of us morbid folks that the engagement was held over for several months and admission fees pretty much paid for the addition of an entire new wing of the museum. My kids were fairly young — five and seven, or around there — and they asked all kinds of great questions about what they were seeing, including naughty bits questions, naturally. But, I would not have taken them to the exhibit had it depicted outright intercourse, as that was not the proper venue to initiate those discussions in addition to the ones already being had. I guess I'm just old fashioned and I think sex is best learned about at the primate house at the zoo! If both parties are deceased it is no longer necrophilia. Just zombie porn.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 03:15 PM) How about the labor union fringes that finance the Dems, yet incite violence at rallies? Labor unions support the democratic party, but what else are they gonna do? The other major party doesn't think they should be allowed to exist. I don't know of too many cases of extreme violence by labor unions. There are cases, but they are few. Now violence against labor unions has been much worse in the history of this country.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) Uh, I would rope them into the left wing as much as you want to rope in these people on the right. These people are a major part of the biggest parts of the Democratic platform, such as the guys who think it is a good idea to fire bomb car dealerships to protect the environment. I don't see that as any different than lumping the Klansmen in with the right because they are religious. By and large these people vote Democratic, and are on the Democratic side of policy. The way you guys are defining the right wing, that makes these guys a legitmate part of the left wing. I don't know anyone from the far left that votes democratic. Anarchists or people from the A.L.F or E.L.F would never vote for the democratic party. Thats why I find it funny when people call Obama a socialist or a communist. The socialists and communists I know can't stand Obama.
  17. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) I'm guessing your not a Olbermann fan.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 01:20 PM) Both sides of the aisle have their bat-s*** crazies. But the difference in the past decade, is two-fold. One, the crazies on the right (Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Buchanan) have a much bigger, much more fervent following than those on the left (Olbermann, not sure who else really qualifies). And two, the ones on the right are driven much more by anger and hate than the ones on the left. Its sad and desperate, and makes me cringe to watch it. The only good news is, the crazies in that right-wing mode are generally older, and will be fading from existence, as society matures and becomes more open-minded. What makes Olbermann bat s*** crazy?
  19. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 05:24 PM) Why didn't the Bears work more short and intermediate passes to Olsen and Forte last night? That really surprised me. The Packers were putting two men on Olsen. Cutler didn't seem to want to check it down to Forte at all.
  20. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 09:51 AM) Even though Green Bay didn't play their best game last night I'll take the win. The 3-4 defense certainly looked solid for their first real game, safeties were getting beat but Green Bay has little depth there. Loved the aggressiveness. Can't wait till BJ is on the field, the defensive line looked tired in the second half to me. Will Blackmon coming back will help as well, gives GB another corner and a better return man on special teams, Nelson didn't do too bad though. Offense definitely looked like s***, whole right side of the line could not hold down Ogunleye or anybody in general. I would have liked to see Green Bay used the 5 receiver formation more and get Finley more involved, they threw to him early but then he just disappeared. James Jones was nowhere to be found either. Run game was so so, I still don't like Wynn and wish Jackson was used a little more, he looked decent towards the end of last season and I like him receiving the ball instead of Wynn. Bengals should be a nice matchup for the offense next week and the Rams the following week. Both teams really didn't play their best football tonight, should be a better matchup come December. 1-0! I'm not worried about the Offense. They looked a little out of sync, but it's the first week. They just missed some big plays. The D-line looked awesome. Cullen Jenkins is a beast. I can't wait till BJ gets in the rotation too.
  21. I was at work and my mom called and told me that a plane had crashed into the WTC. I really didn't get what she meant. I thought like a small plane had accidentally flown into it. When she called the second time and told me another plane had crashed into the other building. You knew something was really wrong. I remember how quiet everything became. Our phones ring alot at work and they just stoped for the rest of the day. I also remember that night sitting outside my friends house and we were talking about how wierd it was to not look up and see any planes in the sky.
