  1. At least Guzilanekak didn't play. He'd have 12 hits by now.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) Does DeJesus bat every inning? They cloned him. We should trade for him.
  3. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) So who is our "closer" this time around?? I think they stick with Masset.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 09:10 AM) How could anyone in their right mind support that kind of thing? Thats what is shocking. I can see a religious fanatic doing something like this, but for the town to back him. I just don't get it.
  5. I feel like i'm on the Pinkerton National Detective Agency message board.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 07:42 PM) what the devil was that That was a Contreras special.
  7. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 7, 2008 -> 07:38 PM) I say we really go unorthodox. Trade our relievers for starting pitchers and go with a 9-man inning rotation. The other teams will never know what hit them. 1st - Danks 2nd - Vazquez 3rd - Buehrle 4th - Floyd 5th - Contreras 6th - Wolf 7th - Harden 8th - Burnett 9th - Bedard Why stop at nine? We could have a new starter for every game.
  8. I think the Brewers figured that adding CC will give them a chance to win the division or a wild card. I'd hate to face Sheets and CC back to back. Their bullpen is something to worry about.
  9. QUOTE (thedoctor @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 12:12 PM) thanks. presuming oc is not resigned, i'd guess alexei moves to short next year. who has the leg up at second--getz or richar? I would think Richar, but it would be a spring training battle.
  10. QUOTE (thedoctor @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 12:06 PM) speaking of richar, what is his status? AAA - .265 / 9 hr / 27 rib / 10 SB, to only 1 CS
  11. We need a nice road series before the break. I think Konerko returns with a boom.
  12. I like this team, but in 2005 at this point we were 57-27 and 10 games up in the division.

  14. 1. Vazquez 2. Buehrle 3. Danks 4. Floyd I'm putting Vazquez first if he is pitching his best, like last game. If he is dealing, he is a good number 1. If he is sucking like most of June, than he goes to 3 or 4. I don't think it's as big a deal with our staff. We don't have one clear ace.
  15. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 07:52 PM) I read that he preferred to go to the NL so he can hit. He will go to the biggest money.
  16. They say there is no way the Brewers can extend him during the season. He wants the Yankees to be able to bid and bid they will. I'm just glad we are done with him for a while.
  17. I'm so glad to see Jason Varitek in the all-star game. Hey .219 is a solid average.
  18. Its hard to beat. Thomas in 2000 was pretty great too. He got screwed out of a mvp that year by HGH man Giambi.
  19. It's shocking that people actually voted for this guy. He was pure hate. Adios Jesse.
  20. QUOTE (lukeman89 @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) i don't find it irritating at all. every game is important and he knows that. you know hes giving you 100% every time he goes out and he takes nothing for granted. do you people understand what "fired up" means? K-Rod is seriously something special because he takes EVERY game as serious as game 7 of the world series, and he gets the job done more consistently and frequently than any other closer in baseball. IIRC, Dotel was yellin and screamin last night after he struck out shoppach. I'd rather have him acting like that then acting like he did against the cubs. wouldn't you? I'm not against a little fist pump or something like that, but this dude has a 10 minute dance thing he does. Yelling like a idiot. Give me a cool and calm pitcher with ice water running in his veins than some idiot running around like a show off. You never used to see Sandy Koufax or Bob Gibson doing little dances. You gonna tell me those guys didn't take things serious.
