  1. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 22, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) I dunno, gay black males are under just as much persecutison. Now if only we can figure out what persecutison is... Also, I doubt you would admit it, but you kind of proved my point, because you know damn well, that if gay black males were the ones being laid off there would be riots and you and the other activists would probably have to go and get Don Imus fired again just for a show of good faith. I think cases in which people are fired for being white or straight are pretty rare. I just in no way see "straight white males" being the most persecuted people in this country. That is why I made the joke, because to me it's just silly.
  2. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ May 22, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) Doesn't that make you happy there are sites like this? Not once has anyone on Soxtalk said you're straight, or male. This is one of the few places I can feel free of persecution. I sometimes think life would be a lot easier if I was a gay black male.
  3. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 21, 2008 -> 11:28 PM) Ive eluded to this in other threads on here in the past but I still hold firm on my opinion that what most people consider to be the most privileged demographic of people, straight white males, is becoming the group of people most discriminated against. Whats worse, that there arent any laws to protect that demographic and nobody even seems to care. This is a very good example of this, and like you said, if anyone but the people that were actually discriminated in this story were the victims of this, say the situation was reversed, there would be protests and rioting. It is simply a double standard. I feel the same way. Everytime I walk down the street I hear people whisper. "Look at that straight white male, when did they move into the neighborhood?"
  4. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 21, 2008 -> 10:09 AM) Multiculturism and all this bending over and taking it in the ass in the name of 'fairness' and 'diversity' will be the end of our country. If the firefighters cannot speak English, they should have never been hired to begin with. I would love to hear your ideas on how to stop multiculturism and save America.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) Now McCain is bashing Obama for wanting to talk to Raul Castro. First of all I didn't realize how big of a threat Cuba was to the U.S. today and what exactly has the decades long embargo accomplished that can be deemed a success? That was a speach McCain gave in Miami. He's trying to get the Cuban vote.
  6. I live in Bridgeport. I like the area and I really like my cheap rent.
  7. The 130 stolen bases in one year is crazy. You rarely see guys get half of that. Could you imagine having him lead off.
  8. I think Buehrle will have a good game. I like his K rate. He needs to throw more first pitch strikes. If all else fails theres always HGH.
  9. It would be nice to see Konerko and Thome have a big game. Drive in some runs. Not asking to much.
  10. The AL central as a whole isn't playing very well. It at least gives a bit of hope.
  11. This is a good deal. I often eat sunflower seeds till I'm sick.
  12. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 8, 2008 -> 04:28 PM) Konerko and Swisher need time off especially in the big park. Please play Anderson. I think Swisher needs a game off. He's high energy, but you can tell he needs a breather.
  13. QUOTE (G&T @ May 8, 2008 -> 01:58 PM) What is Walker's hitting philosophy? And don't just say "lift and pull." I mean, we all know what Coop's pitching philosophy is and what he preaches and it filters down the organization. He says it all the time. But has Walker ever said anything about his keys to hitting or what the approach should be? He's big on solo home runs when down by lots of runs.
  14. Ed Farmer having a hard time with all the "Carlos" today.
  15. I hope the Sox are ready for 60 mph curve balls. Go Sox!
  16. Poreda had a great start. 7 innings, 7 k's and only one hit(solo HR).
  17. Parents, school, friends and economic situation. Things like that, things that are real. And the evil effects of satanic rock n roll.
  18. I forgot about Richar. When is he supposed to be back?
  19. QUOTE (Texsox @ May 6, 2008 -> 08:28 AM) But not all parents set the same standards. And it always trickles down. The 18 year old is allowed to play the game, his younger brother is also home, mom and dad are away, do you really think younger brother isn't going to play? Then what if younger brothers' friend comes over. How am I as a parent going to know what video games that family owns? I want a list of all the video games in that house? It is really easy to say, make the parents be parents. But as a society we keep stacking the deck against parents. Imagine a parent of a 17 year old. I want to call your girl friends parents and get a list of movies, video games, and books in their house. Oh, and what premium movie channels they subscribe to and to be certain they are locked out when you are there. So are you saying that if some form of media isn't say kid friendly that is shouldn’t be allowed to be put out?
  20. I think parents should make their kids read more books and play less video games.
  21. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 5, 2008 -> 12:03 PM) No, and with good reason. That wasn't what was asked though. So where do you draw the line?
  22. QUOTE (Texsox @ May 5, 2008 -> 11:53 AM) Really? Killing babies with graphic blood? Flying planes into towers? Animated sex with animals? Animated sex with kids? Torture of children, animals? None of those would be banned in your world? No ones made those games.
  23. QUOTE (Texsox @ May 5, 2008 -> 11:41 AM) Do you believe there could be a video game created that should be banned? No. I don't think there can be.
