  1. Dude, just think about stitches and morning wood. No way!
  2. That's a pretty good one. I remember one of his rants at JD that almost made me piss myself with the different girl name everytime. It ended with "I would say GO TO HELL SHIKIERA!"
  3. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 07:59 PM) Guys shouldn't use other borderline players just to get in. You say he was the "dominant" player at his position, DH, but Harold never led the league in anything except for slugging % in 1984. You say he missed some time due to the strikes which cost him some milestones, but he hung around for 22 years anyways. By the end he was so protective in matchups his last season with 500 at-bats was 1989. In 1997 he did have 510 plate appearances however but did not finally retire until 2002. Here are the HOF measures from Baseball reference.com: Black Ink: Batting - 3 (507) (Average HOFer ≈ 27) Gray Ink: Batting - 40 (602) (Average HOFer ≈ 144) HOF Standards: Batting - 44.3 (105) (Average HOFer ≈ 50) HOF Monitor: Batting - 66.0 (279) (Likely HOFer > 100) Not even close. Sorry Harold. I love Harold and he was good, but not a Hall of Famer.
  4. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 01:40 AM) Uribe helped the club, not just last year, but for the better part of his stay. I'm happy he was here for as long as he was, and hope sliding Alexei over for the storied and legendary Getz make me forget his defense/pop. I'd like to eat my words so I invite his contributions, but I'm pretty unconvinced at this guy being anything more than a bench/utility man. Again, hope I'm wrong, cause after all I don't want to wish my team bad. He had contributions but 5 mill was way too much for a guy who could just play defense.
  5. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 01:28 AM) My opinion of Uribe is somewhat higher than yours. I guess we'll just have to let it stand there. Won't be the last time. Or there would be no point to these boards.
  6. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 01:20 AM) I agree that Uribe is no longer needed, but he wasn't as a bad as some make him out to be. He's a very solid defensive player at three positions and that's pretty rare. He had a certain amount of value while he was here. Defense was great. His plate presence , situational hitting, and baserunning are as bad as it gets. Fields was hurt last year and his glove is not as good but I'm sure everything else is better. We'll never know if they would have been better with out, but I'll always remember Juan's great catch in the World Series that ESPN ignores because it wasnt Jeter and his overall good defense. Beside that, he's a dumb baseball player. He can catch a ball and free swing at garbage.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 01:06 AM) I think it's pushing it to include Dotel in that group (he was available more due to injury than age), and Canseco was simply a band-aid on an atrocious 2001 season that got off to a 14-29 start without Frank Thomas. It was just trying to put together a respectable offense, and lacking a minor league replacement for the The Big Hurt. Another example here would be Alex Cintron, KW coveted him for quite awhile. Mackowiak, too. Brian Daubach, way too late. D'Angelo Jimenez. Julio Ramirez. McKay Christenson. Carl Everett, twice. Charles Johnson, although he was okay for us in 2000, the bottom really fell out from underneath him after that strong/productive offensive season. Canseco shouldn't be involved there . That was an emergencey deal, butDotel was talked about in 03. Not that he was bad last year, but KW has a history of getting guys 3-4 years after he initally cant get them when the price is too high.
  8. Sounds like a lot of question marks. More then usual. I won't try to predict anything with this team. Could be real good or real bad.
  9. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 12:39 AM) If we had jettisoned Uribe when we did Ozuna, there is no way in hell we'd have won the division. A lot of people were wishing for Uribe to get the ax at that time. I don't care about getting into the playoffs last year. I was just happier then hell that we sent the Twins home crying. I knew there was no chance in hell this team would beat TB. Bottom line is this team wasn't good enough to get to the world series. Not sure if they could have done it with Fields or not, but I'm just glad Uribe's gone and the Twins went home early.
  10. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 12:29 AM) I'm not going to put a lot of thought into analysis here because I just don't believe it will happen. It doesn't make sense unless Roberts signs an extension and I doubt that will happen.
  11. QUOTE (The Beast @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) Alright, I'm in. I've conformed. I'm there
  12. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 1, 2009 -> 11:56 PM) This board is hot for Uribe, but is only luke warm over Gooch. Help me out. Wow. I don't want to see Uribe back here ever. Good defensive guy. Got to be one of the dumbest baseball players since Carlos Lee.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 11:40 PM) Pls answer this: Why would we want Jones? Isn'tt he done??? Because KW wanted him 5 years ago. Seems to be the trend. KW talks about a guy in his prime and cant get him, then gets him when he's worth s***. Griffey jr. Alomar bros, Dotel, Canseco, Lofton, ect. I remember KW talking about all these guys a few years before they got here or more. I'm not bashing KW as much as it seems. He's a good GM . I doubt this is true.

  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 23, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) Thanks buddy. Somethin isn't working right or I can't figure out how to chat. I can see the chat, can't type.
  17. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) I don't remember Dick Allen playing third, but I bet that was awesome! He's still my favorite Sox player ever. There you are you dick! You still hangin out in the slums?
  18. That's it! Now SnR is coming back and we're pissed off! Just f***in with ya! You guys have a much better set up then we did. Sounds a lot better. You need more beer , cops and beating cub fan on air though. I can't believe we didn't get arrested on air with our s***ty little show. I haven't been around and just happened to come accross this. Sounds good. Glad someone kept this area of free entertainment going. We just couldn't do it anymore with our set up. Keep it up , guys. Mike (RPS)
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 10:13 AM) One of my favorite things to do is now ruined. The Score has found a way to ruin Sox radio with Farmer as play-by-play, Singleton as Color and Rongey as the pre/post host. Vote and discuss. Hopefully someone from the Score stumbles across this poll. Only when I'm at work and have no choice. Singleton's BAD.
  20. Finally the three of us will be on air together for the first time this season. I haven't been able to make the previous shows this year, but we're going to make up for lost time. Losts of beer and everything else you expect. And I remind you. THIS IS NOT FOR KIDS! If i get an email about how vulgar we are ,I'll shread you on air. http://204.9.116.234:8104/listen.pls HS http://204.9.116.234:8102/listen.pls Dail up.
