  1. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 29, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) The Yankees rotation should be, "Small Wang Johnson."
  2. It wasn't so much a contract year fluke as it was a ridiculously hot stretch at the beginning of 2005 for Garland. I doubt he goes 8-0 in any stretch of his career ever again.
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 29, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) 6-3 with a 3.86 ERA is pretty damn good. Great for a 4th starter (I consider Garland the 5 at this point).
  4. Uribe had a good game. Isn't that statement an oxymoron?
  5. #4 should not be on there, but Vince Young's performance in the Rose Bowl was one of the greatest individual performances of all time, if not the greatest. #1 should not be there at all, although that was probably the 2nd or 3rd best game of the year.
  6. That's what I've been wondering for a while now.
  7. His role to this point has been "swingman", and it's a poor role for a guy who has never been in a bullpen before this year and needs to develop IMO. I agree with most here that McCarthy should be used in the setup role, as he was today. I just hope he can start stranding some inherited runners and lower his WHIP and ERA. Maybe that will come with more appearances.
  8. What happened to the pitching matchup banners? I liked those.
  9. QUOTE(Hanky Panky @ May 28, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) Count is the Roger Clemens of 2006 MLB. Well, he doesn't have it THAT bad. At least not if you're talking about 05 Clemens.
  10. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) Well well well. That's 2 starts in a row that Count got screwed out of a win. This guy should be 7-0 right now. MB was the one getting screwed over by the offense and the rest of the team in years past.........now that has passed to Count. Shall we call it "The Burden of the Ace"?
  11. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ May 27, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) They've won 8 straight and 15 of 16. They'll have to cool down sooner or later, and when they do, guess who's going to be within 5 games, ready to capitalize. It has begun.
  12. Trade threads took a little longer to start up this year. I'm going to take that as a good omen.
  13. I hope the article is accurate. It sure would be nice to be as set up for the future as they make it seem.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:44 PM) 20-3 the last two years. Here to prevent a sweep. I vote for you to start the game threads for the next week or two.
  15. They've won 8 straight and 15 of 16. They'll have to cool down sooner or later, and when they do, guess who's going to be within 5 games, ready to capitalize.
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ May 26, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) Why? Because he's on a the Cubs? Players don't get 20 games for starting brawls on the field. It just doesn't happen. 10 games is rather long for this sort of thing, so suggesting that he should have gotten more is just ridiculous. No, because he took a cheap shot at another player for no reason.
  17. Broadway's Last Start: ND (4-2), 6 IP 7 H 4 BB 4 R 1 ER 0 HR 3 K Broadway's 2006 Year to Date Stats: 4-2 2.37 ERA 10 G 10 GS 1 CG 1 SHO 60.2 IP 60 H 21 R 16 ER 1 HR 16 BB 45 K 1.25 WHIP 6.68 K/9 2.81 K/BB
  18. Barrett should've got 20. How did Cora get 2? Everything else was expected.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 24, 2006 -> 11:21 PM) So Buehrle is above the average, I really don't know what to entirely make of it but it's really not surprising for whatever reason. Well, he's not really a strikeout guy, so more fielding chances are usually going to add up to more errors, especially if all else is equal. I think it shows that he gets a lot of GB outs. JMO though.
  20. QUOTE(Felix @ May 24, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) The Cub also played 1B the next game IIRC. The point was Anderson is going to be suspended soon, so obviously Mack will see more time in CF. Besides, where's the bad part of "Brian Anderson sends a Cub to the hospital"? It's definitely fun to type and say.
  21. QUOTE(fullcollapse @ May 24, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) plus the .300 avg aj hits more doubles and has a higher slg% http://www.baseball-reference.com/p/pierza.01.shtml That doesn't show his 06 stats.
  22. Brian Anderson sends a Cub to the hospital in a bench clearing brawl, and suddenly Mack is going to see more PT in CF. Coincedence? Definitely.
  23. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 22, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) Santana is on a much different when he faces us to be considered a pitcher. I think a more appropriate term would be "God". God can't lose though.
  24. Intriguing question. I think Mac should replace Freddy either in 07 or 08.
  25. QUOTE(WinningUgly85 @ May 21, 2006 -> 12:19 AM) I am going to create a petition to have a Ozzie Statue made for next season. Do it! I'll sign.
