QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:29 AM) He would be available for the playoffs because he is on the DL. Oh. Thanks for the correction. Didn't know that.
-
Timo did not do all that well in those games. A .270 average is the type of average you might want to get out of a #3 or 4 hitter that hits 35-40 HR per year, not a leadoff man that is expected to get on base to allow the power hitters to drive him in. Personally, I'd prefer to see Pablo Ozuna leading off and playing SS (Uribe moves to 3B), with Brian Anderson and Aaron Rowand playing LF and CF.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) yeah it's kinda ironic that former big league teamates square off in the minors and Borchard tees off against Shingo. As for Podsednik, if he doesn't come back on Monday, I'd say he might as well wait another 2 days for the September 1st call ups. You don't want him available for the playoffs?!
-
So who is going down when Podsednik comes up? Adkins or Anderson? I'm really hoping it will be Adkins, but something tells me Anderson will be sent down.
-
Yes, keep hitting HRs off of pitchers with great stuff! You'll be around for a LONG time if you do.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) I have an idea. We ought to trade for this guy. Oh my god! Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?! That would be a great idea! -
QUOTE(Gldfinger5 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Yes, but what if they took out Felix and put in Ditka???? It would be a close one. Sorry, watching the Bears game. Best "Super Fans" sketch: The one where thay had Jordan on. /off topic

Wow, those totals would both be records. How can a team have negative runs?

My prediction for Felix: 8 IP 3 H 1 ER 12K 1 BB How long did it take him to allow a fly ball? More than 9 innings, I know that. That and the fact that he has averaged striking out one batter per inning combine for me to make this prediction. I sure hope I'm wrong, but that's just about how his previous outings have gone. You never know, the Sox could be the first team to hit him well. Here's hoping.

QUOTE(supersuicidedoll @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) Have you seen this guy pitch? If you didnt know that Felix was a rookie, you wouldnt think it by watching him. He just doesnt get flustered, nor makes mistakes, he keeps all of his pitches down..he has a nasty 12-6 pitch, his fastball is not even his best pitch! Nope, that would be his slider. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) I wanna see Felix throw a slider. I think you know that Seattle will not let him throw it until 2007. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) I love the Colts, but two Hawks are enough. I'd take Hodge or Greenway any day. It would finally rid the team of the MLB problem it has had since 2000 (when Morris was drafted in the 1st round :puke). I may not be a Hawkeye fan, but I'll take their talent. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) This is going to sound bad but... Even though most likely the Sox will not win tomorrow and will most likely be shutout by a rookie, I'm still looking forward to seeing him pitch. This is why I have been looking forward to the game as well. I want to see him pitch. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) I've seen all of his starts so far this year and I am mesmerised. King Felix is absolutely sick, it will be a pleasure to see him pitch tomorrow. You lucky lucky person. Tommorrow will be the first time I get to see him pitch, and I can't wait. -

Go Boilermakers! Three players I will be watching closely in the hopes that the Colts will draft one, thus FINALLY solving the 5 year problem at MLB: Chad Greenway, A.J. Hawk, and Abdul Hodge. -
Didn't the White Sox do good when the B-Mac banner was up too? Just asking.

QUOTE(BMAC3520 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:15 AM) Wait... is that me on the right or on the left? I'm offended if it's me getting my ass kicked. Unfortunately... the rest of the pic is pretty accurate. That's awesome! Good luck on Tuesday BMac! Here's hoping I have something good to post in your AAP thread.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) Our pitchers have less room for error than Paris Hilton's birth control. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) He pitched great, our pitching has been good this month. I feel bad for him and our pitchers. They have pitched well and well enough to win a lot of games. Its hard to throw a 1 hitter and lose. But I remember making comments about our pitching being good but our hitting was going to be our downfall only to have people tell me how bad every other playoff contenders pitching staff was. Medicore pitching can shut us down, great pitching can make our hitters look silly. If these guys get their collective heads out of their asses maybe hit a ball the other way. Maybe not swing at somethng at their mellon or in the dirt. They might have a chance to hit. Hey I'm not saying I don't agree. The offense has been pretty bad for a few games. What I'm saying is that b****ing and whining and complaining about it isn't helping things. Obviously a lot of people don't like it, and all it's doing is making those people not want to come back.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) Well give us the positive spin tonight. What should we post. Wow Arow nearly hit the ball straight. The ball was round and so is his bat so its not his fault. They want to bring the injuns in closer so they can play games that count in September so it matters. Timo is so clutch, damn that airport inspector that snatched the lucky rally fattypanties. If those hits were a few feet longer they would of been homers, then again if your aunt had balls he would be your uncle. How about the unbelieveable game Freddy had?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) What else are we supposed to talk about right now? What brand of panties Timo had in the locker? Which Sox players were on roids? Does Timo spit or swallow? So you b**** and whine because you having nothing else to say?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:05 AM) Unless the Sox get positive energy, it doesn't mean s*** what is said on soxtalk.com. We can b****/whine all we want, and ask who's in or out, but unless the Sox start winning some games soon, they're going to have their backs against the wall. So why does everyone here keep b****ing/whining if they know that it's not going to help?!
-
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) The addition of Pods means a lot, no not that our hitters start hitting with runners in scoring position but he gives the team a different outlook. A lot of people are down right now, im tired of being down, we can sure as hell go on a 9 game winning streak while the twins and tribe go on a 9 game losing streak. A 7 game lead in any division is great but because the way we are playing it sucks, f*** that, 7 games is good for us too. All I am saying is lets get some positive energy around here s*** can turn around very fast. Comon people. Very well said.
-
QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) Yeah...if he gets on base...which seems to be a pretty tall order for any of these dudes anymore. Sure glad we built this team on pitching and defense. One minor oversight....2 or 3 runs a game isn't too much to ask for is it....GODDAMN! Look at the timeline. The decline in offense corresponds with Podsednik's injury. For anyone who says it started a few games before he went on the DL, wasn't his DL stint retroactive?
-
Okay, because of some of the talk here, I'm confused. IN means you think the White Sox will make the playoffs, and OUT means you don't, right?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) I think he's talking about Pods, who seemingly has become the greatest player ever since his injury. Not the greatest player ever, just one of the most important players to the 2005 White Sox offense.
-
QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) Whats so special about Sunday? Scott Podsednik comes off the DL on Sunday.
