  1. FINALLY, after two weeks of trying to do so, the Sox get to 20 games over .500!
  2. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) Where the f*** have you been? Anyways, I agree atleast a little with qwerty here. If we were to acquire Guardado, I wouldn't want Hermy being the full-time closer, not with just 1 RHP in the bullpen behind him in Politte(unless you count Viz and Shingo in all of their horribleness, and I do not). Shingo also has to use his pitches more effectively. It's not always location...Johan Santana can be locating his pitches poorly, but he knows when to use those pitches. Shingo has been f***ing that up all year. So you're saying Shingo needs to start playing video games to prepare to pitch?
  3. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Losses are magnified? LOL Around here we put every loss under a Scanning Electron Microscope. You sure it isn't more powerful than that?
  4. Ok, thanks guys, now I don't have to wonder what you're saying everytime I see that.
  5. Yet another chance for the Sox to go to 20 games over .500 on the year. Hopefully, our guys will finally get it done.
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) The rockies are the best offensive team in the major leagues while at home far and away. They have a good average at home, but every team hits well for average at Coors. As for HRs, in the NL alone, both the Reds and Cubs have better home HR totals and the LA Dodgers are tied with the Rockies at 33 apiece, and considering one of their two (three if you count Hawpe) offensive threats went down for 3 months with a broken collarbone before the game, their lineup is not all that great. Combine that with Freddy's .206 BAA on the road coming into the game, and it seems that Freddy having a good performance wasn't all that inconceivable IMO.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) Every pointed towards him getting his ass kicked. Everything. Glad he proved probally every sox fan around wrong. With his road performance this season, and the Rockies lineup, I predicted he'd do well. I'm glad I was right.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) I think 3 lefties is fine in the bullpen anyway, especially if you have 7 guys in there. Seattle had like 4 at the start of the season IIRC. Kinda off topic here, but what does IIRC mean?
  9. Well, they were stupid enough to trade them to us at least. For guys who they no longer have no less.
  10. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) IF he gets his control back and pitches like he did last year, then he would be one of the best. But those are pretty big IF's. Says the president of the send Dingo down club (sign me up btw). I agree that he's a solid reliever IF all those things happen, but SINCE they haven't, he's probably 5th best right now, right behind Cotts and just a bit ahead of the Jizzcan.
  11. You gave Dingo time as part of the reason we DON'T need pen help? If Dingo is our 3rd best reliever right now, we desperately need pen help. Fortunately he's not.
  12. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) There was already a thread about this earlier. Yeah...this thread!
  13. Like I said before the game: Road ace Freddy = 3 runs max
  14. *cough* 73 HR *cough* huge increase in head and body size *cough*
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 02:27 AM) I ask now, will we have to trade more for Billy Wagner (who's in the last year of his deal), or Eddie Guardado (who still has 1 more year on his deal after this season). Good question. The answer will come down to 2 factors: 1) Are the Phillies in serious contention on July 31? and 2) Which one has more teams after him at the time? Off the top of my head I'd say Eddie would be cheaper, but Seattle took a BUNCH from us for Freddy last year.
  16. Everyday Eddie going against the Twins to clinch the division would be sweet ironic revenge.
  17. So stop talking about it!
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) So you are saying we should be something like 53-2? I wouldn't mind that a bit.
  19. You're not accounting for the versatility, great defense, and clutch hitting that Timo brings to the table. When you consider all of that, how could you even think about sending this guy down?
  20. We're playing in Coors, but we're not playing a destructive offense. We're playing the Colorado Rockies. If you get Clint Barmes and Todd Helton out, you're good.
  21. More like THE (only) HIT (he's gotten all season)!
  22. Timo is an awesome utilityman. We can't afford to lose someone who plays several positions so well and always gets the hit in the clutch like Timo.
