No contender could use a backend rotation innings eater, a LHRP, and a high leverage reliever? I just don't believe that. I think some team would look at Soria, Avilan, and Shields and give the Sox something good for that package, especially if they're not paying a dime for those three players.
-
Package two of them with Shields, pay all the money, and get something quality back.
-
They could always send Jimenez to AFL, plus I think he plays winter ball. I think they're going to try to squeeze the extra year of control out of both at this point, so a September callup doesn't make sense for either of them.
-
Why wouldn't it? Relievers are ridiculously overvalued this time of year. Half a year of Chapman netted Gleyber Torres. Why can't the White Sox cash in on this trend of overvaluing relievers? I see no reason they can't.
-
I was somewhat hoping for that. Don't want SD to have him, but glad CLE doesn't anymore. Hopefully the White Sox can get something anywhere near this for Soria and/or Shields.

Even if they lose control of the Senate, it won't be by a 67-33 margin, and I doubt a single Republican will vote to convict him of any charges on which the House of Representatives impeaches him. Please, Republicans, prove me wrong.

My understanding is that he was filming in the courtroom, which is illegal. He was asked several times to desist from the practice, and when he persisted, he was rightfully held in contempt of court. That's not a journalist being jailed, that's a criminal facing consequences.
-
Huh? The Orioles didn't have better offers than this in the offseason, that's why they kept him in the first half.
-
Yeah, that's the big difference for me. Ray Durham was one of my favorite players when he was here, but to compare him to Moncada does a huge disservice to Moncada's power. Moncada just hits the ball with so much more authority than Ray ever did, and the ball just jumps off of his bat. Hopefully he'll pick up where he left off before the break, because July Yoan Moncada extrapolated over a season is an all-star and in the MVP discussion.

What's the actual deal?
-
You could really just take "It's almost as if" out of that sentence.
-
That's fair. I'd take Quintana 2.0, especially for a reliever. ABTR.
-
Why would anyone sign Chris Davis to a 7 year $161 million deal instead of extending Manny Machado? Orioles gonna Orioles.
-
Fangraphs may be outdated on that? I don't see how a 20 year old LHSP with a sub 3 ERA in 100+ AAA innings (also 7 K/9 and 2.6 K/BB) gets valued that low.
-
Ah, my mistake, I thought you were saying no GM who had Herrera would trade him for Moncada.
-
I'll take that last one, please. Seems unrealistic, though.
-
Why? If the Sox had Herrera and were offered Moncada 1 for 1 I'd take that deal. A 4 WAR CF is great, but Moncada's potential is so much more.
-
Oh come on, raBBit. You're a CPA, you know they have no requirement to disclose anything other than their 990, which isn't due until November 15 if they filed an extension.

That would surprise me. April 15, 2020, on the other hand, would not.

Note the conviction is for conspiracy. Trump could likely be convicted of conspiracy many times over.

"Enemy" for purposes of a treason charge is a country with which the United States is at declared or open war. Russia does not qualify as an "enemy" for purposes of a treason charge.
-
Can someone please educate the media and others on what treason is? I don't like Trump, and I think Mueller could likely produce enough conspiracy charges against him to last five lifetimes, but treason requires the person being charged to be helping a country with which the United States is at declared or open war. And no, Russia hacking into the DNC does not constitute an act of war in the sense that it puts us at open war with them for the express purpose of charging Trump with treason. Again, I don't support Trump in any way and I think he's committed enough crimes to be locked up for the rest of his life and likely much longer, but because if the narrow definition of treason, it is not one of the crimes he's committed.

2019: Harper 2020: Arenado, Sale You better win multiple championships because it's the only way you're keeping that team together and not going bankrupt.

How many factual inaccuracies will Congress abide? "Witch hunt headed by Strzok" is just blatantly false. Ignoring the fact that it's not an actual witch hunt, nor is the colloquial use of the term acceptable to describe the Russia investigation, Strzok was never appointed as the head of the investigation. That was Mueller. This is just blatant fabrication at this point.

Incompetence has never been a very good legal defense, as I understand it. Typically, you're expected to know and keep track of what any reasonable person in your situation would know or keep track of. Thus, if collusion was occurring around Trump, his not being aware of it will not save him if it is reasonable to conclude based on the evidence that he should have been aware of it. Of course none of this matters until January 20, 2021 unless Congress decides to move forward with impeachment proceedings.
