  1. He's really starting to make that trade look good.
  2. This seems very similar to a "minimum wage jobs are for teenagers to earn spending money" argument. It certainly has the same effect. Further, if your theory held, there wouldn't be class action lawsuits against Uber, Lyft, Instacart, and pretty much every high profile gig economy company. In many cases these people are choosing to do this because they have no other option.
  3. Anyone have the Ian Clarkin tweet?
  4. That contradicts a lot of other information I've read/ heard on him.
  5. What are you basing a lack of speed and arm strength on? Because the scouting information I've seen on him suggests he has the ability to play a good RF and has a good arm for the position.
  6. If Madrigal is on the same level as Senzel as a draft prospect, and he's available when the White Sox are picking, they should pick him. I'd really like to get Madrigal and Larnach, but it looks like Larnach has played himself into the 20s.
  7. Hooray for the voice of reason.
  8. You said In response to Which implies that your opinion is that if Kopech doesn't immediately perform at ace level, he should stay in the minors.
  9. If the Sox aren't going to resign their core, what was the point of this exercise?
  10. Singer would be disappointing. If the Sox are going SP, they desperately need LHSP right now, and I like the ceiling of McClanahan a lot better than Singer. If I were ranking the names I've seen bandied about for the Sox recently, it would be: 1) Madrigal 2) Bohm 3) McClanahan 4) India 5) Singer 6) Bart 7) Swaggerty
  11. I think this is actually the perfect time to offer him an extension, something like 4/$30 with two team options bringing the max value to 6/$50. Gives him some financial security and gives the Sox extra years of control that ensure that if he does come back and perform, he's part of the rebuild core.
  12. The problem, using your analogy, is that in the mid 2010s, the White Sox were at point B, and used the resources required to get to point C hoping that luck and top end talent would carry them to point E. Now, ideally, internal talent will carry them to point D, and they'll only need to spend the resources required to get to point E, which they'll have at that point. The difference is their strategy was faulty before. Now it's not.
  13. I'd already done that, especially with all the good offensive performances the Sox are getting in MiLB right now.
  14. With all the OFs completely crushing it in the minors right now, Idk that a "Schwarber" is necessary. This could be that left handed power bat that KW is always so desperate for, though, which, if so, getting it out of the way now so they don't try to trade half the farm for one would be good.
  15. Mize is as close of a lock to go 1-1 as we've seen in recent years, but I hope you're right.
  16. Collins has a slash line of .386/.565/.682 and a K/BB of about .6 since he changed the stance he was using on April 24. SSS, but those are incredible numbers regardless of sample size, and nothing like he's done for any stretch at any level of minor league baseball. I don't think he's going to bust. He may not end up being great, but the bat will play somewhere, and extremely well if he can stick at C.
  17. KW's 2000s model hasn't worked in some time, and he had the best farm system in baseball when he started to build his core from, which he did. You're actually effectively arguing against the strategy you're advocating.
  18. With the way he's hitting, and now the power starting to show up? He's making last year's trade look a lot better.
  19. To get them development and experience at the ML level, and if they succeed, to possibly help sell free agents in the upcoming stocked class on the idea of being a part of this team's ascendance.
  20. You don't account for the fact that today's team won't be August's team.
  21. DFAing Engel might be the best move.
  22. As constructed, yes, but this is a team that will add Rodon and likely will also add Eloy and Kopech at some point this season. Maybe they'll even add Zavala, Collins, and Stephens toward the end of the year. I doubt this team resembles the one we'll see in August and September much.
  23. Be patient with the team right now, they're waiting on waves of new talent over the next couple of seasons to be competitive. This team is going to struggle and have a few losses like today's.
  24. 1) Kopech 2) Cease 3) Hansen 4) Dunning 5) Stephens 6) Clarkin 7) Adams ? Henzman 9) Guerrero 10) Puckett
