  1. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 10:43 AM) The lack of power this year is concerning but I wouldn't call a 112 wRC+ struggling. I also looked up the park factors for Charleston and it's a pretty big pitcher's park. He needs to start hitting for more power though, that .109 ISO is ugly. And clearly a result of a 20 year old kid needing to fill out and turn his gap power into HR power, not to mention, as you just stated, his home park suppresses offense.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 10:32 AM) The fact that apparently Hahn wouldn't budge on D-Rob for Robles straight up and then settles for a struggling 20 year old in A ball is very puzzling, I'm not big on Rutherford at all When was D-Rob for Robles offered? Pretty sure that was never, or D-Rob would be in a Nats uniform today.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 08:59 AM) There is nothing "depreciating" about Kahnle. Kahnle is like a penny stock that took off and could be on its way to blue chip status, but is also one bad quarterly earnings report from being back in the toilet. Sell now, while you're getting value at all.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 10:44 PM) Least surprising response. This trade is the type of thing you'd do in ootp some poor new gm. I actually did that once, traded a bunch of middling MLB players I didn't want for someone's top prospect who ended up being my cleanup hitter on my World Series Champion team a few seasons later.
  5. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 10:41 PM) so we're gonna run with a 35-36 year old closer when our window opens up? kahnle is not a closer he's a middle reliever. really not much better than swarzak. you just rate him highly because he's younger The White Sox currently have about 11 talented SPs, one highly regarded reliever, and a few live arms in their minor league system (not counting Clarkin). A closer will emerge.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 10:27 PM) Let's not forget how much money we're saving on Robertson's deal that had zero value to the Sox. That $20 million or so can be put to a lot of productive uses. Clippard gets hot and we can turn around and flip him with Swarzak/Jennings or Leury/Saladino/Yolmer to complete a bench for a playoff team. How would they use that, though? It's not like they can go bust through J2 limits next year or spend a bunch signing guys way overslot like the old J2 and draft days. Best they can do is either 1) allocate it to a bunch of rentals you hope you flip at the deadline or 2) bank it for Machado.
  7. They clearly wanted Rutherford if that's all they're getting. Hope he pans out. That said, it's not a terrible deal if you break it down as: DRob for Rutherford Kahnle for Clarkin Frazier for Polo + salary relief (Clippard) My first thought is I want more for Kahnle. Andujar + Clarkin on that line makes this a win for the White Sox.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 10:08 PM) Tito Polo? 22 year old OF in AA, has a .950 OPS there in 59 PAs. Didn't do as well in A+, though, .770 OPS in 257 PAs.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:48 PM) Florial...Florial...Florial... If it's one more I'd prefer Andujar and he makes more sense since he's part of their 40 man issue.
  10. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:44 PM) Alec Hansen, no no thru 5IP. Went 5 2/3, struck out 8, walked 2, gave up a hit.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:37 PM) I think that is a bit much, but I would take the latter two and call it fair. If I'm picking two of the three, Andujar and Adams.
  12. QUOTE (Soxnfins @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:35 PM) Give me Andújar and this deal is perfect. Need more than that, especially for taking on the contract.
  13. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:34 PM) Really would like Andujar Andujar, Florial, and one of their better higher level arms, like Adams.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:30 PM) Clippard coming back our way Someone else good besides Rutherford HAS to be in this deal.
  15. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:24 PM) I need more than Rutherford and clarkin. Deal is missing one more quality piece. Rutherford, Clarkin, Andujar, Florial would do it for me.
  16. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:20 PM) 1) Maybe Kopech 2) Who f***ing cares? Mostly 2.
  17. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:19 PM) On the Red Sox front, DD is talking like a madman to Henry. He looks like a mess. They likely couldn't top this package without sending Devers, which they were never going to do.
  18. QUOTE (gosoxtim8 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:17 PM) so who going our closer now since robertson and kahnle are going to be gone? Who cares?
  19. QUOTE (Quin @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:12 PM) Holy s***, Rutherford is a great get. But gonna need like, four more names.
  20. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 08:52 PM) You have to think Andujar is going to come back as well, no? Rutherford, Fowler, Andujar? I doubt they trade an injured player. Rutherford, Andujar, Mateo, Adams?
  21. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 08:34 PM) Torres isn't getting moved. Wish it weren't true, but you do not trade Torres for a rental 3B/1B and bullpen arms. That's just highway robbery. Cashman is not dumb by a long stretch.Give me Rutherford, Adams, and Fowler, and I'll say it was a good trade. I'd take Andjujar and/or Mateo as well. Yanks have so many good pieces. Red Sox could never match. Didn't the Yankees get Torres (and more) for just one bullpen arm, that was a rental, no less?
  22. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:50 PM) sooo Frazier, Robertson & Kahnle for Florial, Sheffield, Mateo, Andujar and Abreu? Yes, please.
  23. They wouldn't have scratched him without having a deal in place, would they?
  24. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:30 PM) - a twitter user with 29 followers named NOLC Action I saw that. Seems reasonable and disappointing, so may be accurate.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 06:58 PM) Another fake Rosenthal? Yep, fooled. Oh well.
