I'm "watching" this on mlb.com. This is excrutiating. Who says Sox fans don't care?

I can't believe he plays that many songs. You really got your money's worth. Nothing like turning the kids onto the music you like. If I had to hear Baa Baa Black Sheep or This Old Man again while I drove, I would have put a pencil in my ears.

All season, Sox fans (myself included) were upset by the lack of respect the Sox were given by the national media. The "experts" at ESPN would say that the Sox weren't as good as their record would indicate. Inevitably a thread would start here telling the "experts" to f-off. Maybe they were right all along. I still like the Sox team. I think they'll make the playoffs and because they have talented pitchers, they have a chance to win it all. However, their everyday lineup lacks an impact offensive threat. I'm not talking statistically (PK has HR numbers, Pods has SBs), but I'm saying there is nobody that an opposing team really has to be careful with. Unfortunately, they didn't make a move for a guy like Griffey when they had a chance at the deadline. For what KWilliams was being asked to give up to get Griffey, Burnett, et al, I'm glad he didn't make the move. I felt that way at the time, and I don't think it's fair to hold him responsible now that the Sox have begun to slide.

2 points: Nobody made any real significant moves at the trade deadline. Our payroll, and those of other Central teams, reflects attendance. If we supported the team better at the gate, they'd spend more money and the division would be ours to lose every year.

I knew Brown had domestic troubles, and I was just offering him up as a person who was a social activist (not necessarily saying that he should be the subject of the speech). That's why I later added Brooks and Dunn (not that Brooks and Dunn ). I mean, you could say Roberto Clemente. Latin players to this day look up to him, and he died in 1972. He's the reason so many latin players wear #21. Truthfully, though, I don't know the off the field personal lives of those guys.

Like I said, I am not trying to be a dick, or ruin the thread, I just didn't see much value in taking out a thesaurus and finding all the words that are synonyms with great. Good Luck

I realize that you asked for posts that helped, and I'm not trying to be a dick, but there must be a better choice that Frank. How about choosing someone like Jim Brown. Someone who has actually given his time and voice to raise awareness about social problems. Frank's the same guy who claimed that he didn't know much about Jackie Robinson when MLB retired his number. That is an egregious error for any black player. Unbelievable. Frank used non-union labor to work on his house while MLB & the Player's Association were at odds. Frank was not a great husband, and I'm not sure how anyone here knows him well enough to know if he's a great father. I'm all for being a Sox fan, but I get tired of people looking at our guys with blinders on.
