Not counting college, I lived in my parent's house for 26 years, then an apartment for a few months, then my first house with my wife. Then we moved 3 years ago from Chicago to Phoenix (wife's company moved us - and we took everything that wasn't nailed down). Unfortunately, I've spent the last 3 years trying to get rid of all the crap we moved.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) I'm not a betting man, but if I was, I'm betting this is all hogwash. If that's the case, please ban the guy who started this.

One of the best things I ever saw was that guy at the Bears game in the mid 90's(Mike Pantazis?) who leaped out into the tunnel from the stands and caught the extra point after it sailed through the uprights. Unbelievable timing and athleticism. I'm pretty sure they were playing the Packers, and I'm positive that the Bears should have signed him on the spot. And so goes my 200th post.

I try to change team names every year, unlike some of the guys in my leagues, and I figured I'd see what names some of you use. This year I'm going with "Beecher Tool & Dye" (heard Terry Boers say this several years ago), and I'm using "Wicked Pepper Steak" (from "The Blues Brothers" - first R-rated movie I ever saw) in another league.
-
I understand why players are allowed to appeal before their names become public, but it kind of reeks of cover-up. I think they should do away with the MLB run drug testing and go with an independent agency. Either that, or line up all of the players, have them pull down their pants, and anyone with nuts smaller than John Kruk's gets a 10 game suspension. Proof positive.

I did one a few weeks ago and forgot what it was called. Thanks for posting that.

QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) Looks like Chicago is not the only media outlet with this speculation http://forums.nyyfans.com/showthread.php?t=87565 EDIT: And this guy works in a major league organization (well, he claims) http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39353 They brought up Pujols and ARod on that site. Good to see the word assclown is not limited to this site. PS What happened to the "W" in the 3BTNS5 signature?

QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 08:59 AM) THats not that good, but in compairisent here are our starters WHIP during the last 30 days: Must the Southsider ooze out of you?

It worked. Now, I'll spend the rest of my morning doing this until I finally defeat my disobedient foot.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) Kapler .... I don't think he's on roids...especially since his numbers haven't shot up. Steroids don't magically improve your ability to hit a baseball. They will improve your power, but if you aren't putting the bat on the ball, you won't see an improvement in your numbers. I, too, can't wait to see the HOF baseball writer (who somehow missed the boat on the whole steroids issue for 15 years) fumbling for words on Baseball Tonight friday.

When I saw the title, I was hoping it was instructions for doing an "up and over." I'm sure my wife would love to see me doing that.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 06:24 AM) http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/08/16/yacht.mu...reut/index.html He is accused of enlisting the help of 40-year-old gang member John Fitzgerald Kennedy and ex-jailer Alonso Machain, 21, to carry out the murder on November 15, 2004. How dare they drag the good Kennedy name through the mud!

Please, don't do it. Please. Oh, please, please, please!

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) You don't just name a captain (Jeter, V-tek, Sweeney) a player first becomes a captain by their attitude and the way they handle things in the clubhouse. If the players look up to Konerko and see him as a captain then he is a captian. We don't really know what goes on in the clubhouse, we only get small samples from the media, which a lot of the time mean nothing. Be careful, you're making sense.

Anyone have a one page cheat sheet for 2005 Fantasy Football drafts? I started to make one last night, then realized that: a. I'm not too good with spreadsheets; b. I don't really have much time; and c. I am lazy. I'm just looking for something that I can print out on one page that has QB, RB, WR, TE, (K, & D - I can live without these, but if they fit) and a top 100 overall. I do both of my drafts on-line, and I don't really feel like shuffling papers. I appreciate the help, and assure you that you will be rewarded with good karma for the white sox.

"Muhammad has already developed a good relationship with Bears' quarterback Rex Grossman, something which was apparent during Sunday's first training camp workout" That should come in handy.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) I'll tell ya one thing. When I have children you had best believe that I'll teach them to be smarter than that floozy was. Her parents failed her in that they didn't instill an ounce of common sense into her empty head. Natalee strikes me as a typical spoiled brat who couldn't function on her own for 5 minutes without someone right there making sure she didn't f*** something up. If parents are that aloof or that busy that they can't take time to properly raise children then maybe they shouldn't have them in the 1st place. I have three kids. When they are outside, so am I. That's wheter it's right in front of my house, or in the backyard. It's completely different than how I was raised. Sometimes I wonder if all the attention they (and a lot of other kids DO get) is what makes them so naive at 18. Like I said earlier, the problem you should have is with the media coverage. The girl obviously made a huge mistake. She paid the ultimate price. RIP. Rest in Peace.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) I sure as hell don't want one if she's gonna run off with 3 guys while drunk on vacation wasting my hard-earned money. That would mean I failed as a father, and I can almost assure you it wouldn't happen on my watch. Almost.
-
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Hope you never have kids (especially a daughter). I refer back to my earlier post.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Point taken. But if I had made such a stupid choice, no matter how drunk, I wouldn't want to be seen as a martyr. Gotta get the last word in.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) The point is that she doesn't deserve all of this attention. Yes, it's unfortunate that this happened. But, she doesn't deserve all of this attention. There are plenty of people that are more deserving of having a 24-hour watch for them on CNN. This girl made a piss-poor decision, and it cost her her life. Her fault, this deserves very little media attention. Then Nuke's anger should be directed at the media. For some reason, he and others are attacking the VICTIM.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) Situation: If you were in that club, 18 years old, you'd a been mackin on her. If she acted interested, you'd a been all over it. Now, I'm not saying three guys, that's SICK, but the point is, 18 year old males and females, in that setting, with the alcohol make STUPID judgements. In this case, she paid for it with her life. That's s***ty, and I feel bad for her family to have to go through that. But when we were 18, we thought nothing would happen to us, we did the same (generally) stupid s***. So please don't be so quick to judge... that's all I ask. Ditto. And not in the Patrick Swayze - "Ghost" way.Not that there's anything wrong with that.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Like going out to get gang-banged by 3 foreign guys that she's never met? Like trusting people and having them take advantage of that trust.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) All too much damn press, just like the AL East, and nothing about the White Sox, those ugly duckling bastards in the Central. Well, there's something we can all agree on. Oh, and Peter Gammons is a damn sexy man.

I understand, but at some point every kid goes out on his own, and you just hope they don't make stupid decisions. They all do. You just hope yours doesn't die for the mistake. I also understand getting sick of the news coverage, but every story is overplayed now. OJ. Menendez Brothers. Scott Pederson. Beretta. All of them. That's what happens when you have 24hr news networks.
