It doesn’t help that our starters rarely pitch more than 5-6 innings. Seems like the relievers are responsible for at least 3 innings every game. Of course, TLR might want to consider occasionally having a reliever pitch more than one inning.

I heard he had his foot amputated in November 2002, but he was already slow so it didn’t affect his speed. It took him about half of 2003 to adjust in the box, though. When he hit the GS in 2005, he raised his fist to counterbalance the missing foot so he wouldn’t topple over while rounding the bases. The outfield statue is anatomically correct. Check it out. Also, check to see if Moncada has both feet. He may not.

If we’re casting votes, I agree - let Greg comment.

6/10 White Sox vs Texas Rangers, 7:10
Middle Buffalo replied to flavum's topic in 2022 Season in Review
I’m a Rodon fan, but I looked it up a few days ago and he was 1-4 with a 5.00 ERA in his last 7 games. Innings pitched/start already trending down. -
TLR really seems to make at least one mistake per game. It’s easy to second guess, but there have been so many times where a defensive replacement or pinch runner or pinch hitter is the obvious move, and he doesn’t do it. It’s sad that the game thread crew is actually smarter than our manager. Walking a guy who isn’t an absolute beast with a 1-2 count with two outs is indefensible. Even if it was Trout or Bonds batting, you’d at least have the pitcher try to get him to chase something. I don’t know. I guess Sox fans can’t have nice things.

And there’s no way Maddon looks as befuddled as TLR does in the dugout.
-
As much as I thought Maddon was a d-bag (baseball’s version of Pete Carroll), I would love to see him managing the Sox. Felt the same about Carroll for the Bears. They may be d-bags, but they be mine to root for.

I watched Norm McDonald’s last “stand up” special last night. It was not very good. I’m kind of sad someone didn’t just take some of the highlights from it and make a documentary about him. I only laughed a few times in the hour. If Norm did the same material in a comedy club, he could have made it work, but in a solo recording without an audience, most of it just came off flat. There was a 30 minute round table after the special where Letterman, Chappelle, Molly Shannon, Conan, Sandler, and Spade talked about the special and their history with Norm. That was pretty good.

Two 2B? That’s the kind of out of the box thinking TLR can get behind. -

Sadly, our Sunday lineups are better than what TLR throws out there the rest of the week. Tomorrow should be an easy win. -

I don’t think Hahn’s plan was to end up with TLR when he dumped Ricky. -

Same. -
Nay - Nay - Nay - Yay. I’ll give Joe Rogan and Donald Trump Nays, also. You didn’t ask, but you were thinking it.

The solution for our societal gun problem probably isn’t “more guns.” Maybe limit the types of guns that can be sold to average citizens?
-
We had police who were specifically trained to handle guns and react to active shooter situations, and they collectively shit the bed. I can’t imagine teachers on the whole would be much more effective.

TLR should start Harrison at Pitcher and Cease at 2b. Big Energy can throw one pitch, and then TLR can switch them. Cease will be able to hit in Harrison’s place. Couldn’t be any worse than what we’ve seen. -
So our brilliant, gun loving, NRA bought and paid for politicians think the solution to end school gun violence is arming teachers. Yeah, that’s what teachers signed up to do. I assume they’ll all be trained to handle a handgun proficiently. Law enforcement has quarterly firearms qualifications, so teachers will have to mirror that, I’m sure. If they don’t qualify, no more teaching. They can keep the guns in their desk drawers. Or, maybe every teacher has a gun holstered. Who knows? We can let them decide. Maybe a shot gun leaning in the corner, too. That should work great when the nuts with AR-15s walk into the school and start shooting. The teacher may not even have to stop teaching. Just calmly pull the gun out and keep reading to the class until the intruder comes down the hall to meet his end. Head shot. Problem solved.

Carlos Rodon... What could the Sox gotten in trade?

A few years ago, there was a thread about what a guy could eat to make his ejaculate more voluminous. Thaaaat was a dumb thread. But, it was entertaining. -
Josh Donaldson called Tim Anderson "Jackie"
Middle Buffalo replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Donaldson should walk across the field today when TA’s stretching and talk to him about it. It’s pretty simple. If you do something wrong, own it, and make amends. -
And let’s put the worst possible defense on the field for our guy who pitches to contact the most.

Deebo? Terrell Owens? It depends what you consider a breakout, but from a fantasy football perspective, I know one of the rules of thumb for years was to look for WRs in their third year because many made the jump at that point. That would tend to be 24+ for most of them.

Moncada, Robert and Eloy are always grimacing after swings and whenever they give max running effort. I’ve never seen so many players get hurt running to first and sliding into bases. These guys are all too tightly wound.
