Didn’t TLR and the trainer start to come out and get turned back by Liam? I know I saw it happen, but it may have been someone else pitching.

I generally don’t like superhero movies because I can’t buy into the special effects, but The Batman was good. Agree they could have chopped around 30 minutes off and not missed anything.

Tell me about your Scouts Seats experience
Middle Buffalo replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My friends and I do a baseball trip every year, and I’ve had similar experiences a few times with some of the ticket offices in other cities. I just want a price sheet and what is offered. It’s not that hard. One of my pet peeves is trying to ascertain the cost of something I may want to buy, and not being provided the info. -
Tell me about your Scouts Seats experience
Middle Buffalo replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It’s been a few years, so things may have changed, but I’ve been to the scout seats a few times (my brother’s company gives him tickets), and I thought they were great. We were right behind the plate - sat a little bit higher than fans the camera shows from the CF shot on pitches. The pregame buffet was really good quality (carving station, vegetables, and the typical ballpark food - fries, wings, beefs, etc), and there was a menu at the seat to order more food/drinks/snacks. To me, the experience of scout seats is way better than a luxury box. You actually feel like you’re at a game. Luxury boxes are so disconnected, and the few times I’ve been the buffet wasn’t much more than wings and hot dogs. -
Tadahito Iguchi is his manager. Maybe he’ll put a good word in for the Sox.

How many innings do Engel, Mendick and you assume Kopech will pitch before being pulled by TLR?
-
I think the biggest mistake (other than DUIs) TLR has consistently made is defensive replacements. He’s missed some really obvious ones. Late innings with the lead, it’s going to make sense to have AJP in left, Robert in center, and Engel in right. Don’t worry about the batting order. His BP management is ok (other than not giving Kimbrel an opportunity to close). It’s not his fault when relievers fail to do their jobs. Eg. Bummer coming in and walking guys followed by a bleeder through the infield - there’s nothing TLR can do about that.

Not a ton of great FA options. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/starting-pitcher/available/ -
3/30 | Rangers vs White Sox | 3:05PM CT | NBCSCH

The one positive of the reduced Spring Training is the regulars play together quite a bit more than usual. I was at the game Sunday. Everyone who started the game was a projected regular and all played 4-5 innings at least. -
Also, consider Chris Rock is NOT a good actor. He was pretty thrown off the rest of the time he was up there. Pretty sure this was not planned or fake.

Vaughn has a hip pointer injury, out 1-2 weeks

It’s Spring Training for Sox Talkers, too. This is the B game. Just get some reps in here and move to the other thread when you’re ready. -

You don’t have to pull up to not dive. He could just run as fast as he can all the way through the play. He could decelerate after the ball drops if he doesn’t catch it. Infielders do it every day on balls just out of their reach. They don’t pull up, but they don’t dive either. -
I think the thing he was saying about love was a justification of his action. He assaulted Chris Rock out of love for his family. That’s why he equated it to Richard Williams being crazy and acting the way he did for his daughters. Smith laughed at the joke. Then he got up and approached Rock on stage. The worst thing about the slap is there’s no way Rock could have expected it.

Is an incest joke out of line?

Vaughn has a hip pointer injury, out 1-2 weeks
Middle Buffalo replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Anyone playing the outfield is always going to have plays where the ball is just a little out of reach. No matter how fast they are. Vaughn getting injured diving could happen to any of these guys traveling at a full sprint and diving. He’s a pretty sure handed fielder and he takes good routes to the ball. He’s just slow. For Adam Engel, this is a catch on the run. For Vaughn, it is not. The question is if diving is ever really worth it. It is certainly not in ST. It may be a business decision these guys have to make during the regular season. -
Andrew Vaughn hurts hip pointer, out 1-2 weeks per White Sox

If this was one of the Cubs, we’d know already. Jesse Rodgers would be reporting live from the candlelight vigil he held overnight. -

Since it’s a leg injury, they probably wouldn’t want to make him walk. He left on the cart through the RF bullpen area. More than likely, the medical facility is a little bit away from the stadium in an adjacent building where the clubhouse is. -
Earlier in the show, Amy Shumer paid tribute to the couples in the room. Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett. And Jake and Maggie Gylenhall (brother and sister). Should Jake Gylenhall have walked on stage and slapped Amy Shumer for implying an incestual relationship?

He was injured a lot. Can’t be coached off the DL.

I liked Rodon. I wouldn’t have been mad if they signed him to exactly what he got in SF. The healthy version of him proved he can be TOR, but this might have been a case of throwing good money after bad. He didn’t exactly earn every penny they paid him prior to last year, and even last year they had to shut him down. He doesn’t have a ton of room to complain. No excuse for doing this to Giolito, though. Just pay him some of the money that “will be spent.” There has to be a cookie jar full of it in JR’s office.

3/22 Spring training game vs MIL
Middle Buffalo replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2022 Season in Review
I’m assuming Vaughn will rotate between 1B, LF, RF and DH. I’d be looking for Adolfo to take some of Leury’s ABs in RF. -

I feel like I’ve been hearing his name long enough, and without any FA signing, I’d like to see them bring him up to see what he can do. Let him be part of the RF rotation. -
It doesn’t make sense to me that people drastically reduced travel over the past two years and teleworked, yet gas prices didn’t go down. What do I know though? As long as the gas execs get their bonuses and the companies get their subsidies, I’m happy.
