So, is COVID a left wing political tool (second paragraph) or is it a real health concern (first paragraph)? I feel everyone worldwide is conspiring to keep Trump out of office.

Gordon’s evaluation of Yermin was spot on. Both YM and Vaughn are trying to pull outside pitches. Frank echoed the sentiment. I’m still a steve stone guy, and I’d rather have Wimpy back from time to time if Stone is off.

I love the way the brackets work in double elimination tournaments.

Maybe they should just raise the laces on the ball a little?

I agree. I think the reason they didn’t call up Sheets or Adolfo is mostly for defensive reasons. Without Engel and Eaton, the defense would be very sketchy. Even Goodwin takes some pretty curious routes to the ball. Vaughn has done well catching the ball, but his decisions on where to throw the ball haven’t always been great.

I only watched a little this weekend, but Benetti “interviewing” his color guy gets a little old for me. I’d rather he just call the game and let the color guy comment. A little bit of silence and ambient sound isn’t the end of the world on a baseball TV broadcast.

It would be nice if our hitters who struggle against RH pitching (Yermin, AV) would think about hitting it to right field rather than trying to pull everything. -
1. Lost more than 20 lbs. mostly by counting calories. I’m not fanatical about it. I pretty much eat the same stuff, just a little less. 2. I’m kind of a homebody, so staying home hasn’t affected me. I wasn’t affected at work. I was able to work the whole time in the office - teleworked once a week. 3. 401k is up, but I took a huge hit in the beginning. If I had bee proactive and moved it to something more safe early on rather than ride it out to the bottom, I’d be way better off.

6-19 GT: Sox @ Astros (6:15pm)

No way he would have agreed to a team option. -
Funny, last year Rizzo complained that it wasn’t safe for players to have to sit around together in the locker room during a pandemic to wait out a rain delay. Now it’s ok for him to be in the same locker room and not be vaccinated?

Hopefully he packed the smoke and mirrors. -
Is TA giving himself haircuts? I know COVID has had people doing that. Didn’t think MLB would be affected.

Hmmm…I thought illegal immigrants took all the jobs?

I’m not a big jersey guy, but a friend bought me the baby blue one in the middle pic. It’s a Dick Allen #15, and it is beautiful. Can’t wait to wear it to a game. Before the season, I emailed Brooks Boyer to consider it as the Sunday alt (as a tribute to Dick Allen and because I’m sick of the ‘83s). He said he likes the idea, but it was too late to do it for this season. I’m going to follow up and suggest it again. Next year will be the 50th anniversary of Allen’s MVP season.

So, if there was a lab leak that caused all of this, does that mean the virus is real? I’d rather go back to it being fake news. Less scary. In any event, I’m going to run and grab a few cases of toilet paper from the grocery store before all the old people get up from their naps.

When did Soxtalk become hot take central? The Pale Hose Talk section is crazy now with some of the “fans” who are posting. I swear some of these guys would be happier if the Sox were losing.

I really like Lynn. I hope they extend him before the season ends.
-
He probably didn’t want to show up the opposition by taking an extra base.

It’s possible we also have Burger as a 1B/DH type in the next year or so. That’s why it’s so nice Vaughn has shown to be comfortable in the OF. We’re jam packed with 1B/DH types, so it would be nice if Vaughn can be an OF in the immediate future.

Ugh...Going to Jesse Rogers for commentary on ESPN.

Your reading comprehension is excellent.

I didn’t like LaRussa the first time he managed the Sox. I hated him with the A’s, and I wasn’t crazy about him with the Cardinals. He’s always been an ass. I was not a fan of his hiring. That said, I like how TLR has handled the position players. He plays TA, Yoan, and Abreu every day (as he should). The rest are rotated pretty consistently. They’re all being used and playing multiple positions, and most have contributed to wins. Even when it looks like a shitty Sunday lineup, most times they’ve produced. The starters have been used pretty well. We can pick apart a guy pitching a little too long here or there, but some of that responsibility falls on Katz and the pitcher to know and say when they are done. I feel like he’s done a bad job with the bullpen most of the year. It doesn’t help that several of them have been pretty unreliable, but he’s made some pretty questionable decisions. It’s not really fair that TLR gets blame for every loss and very little credit when they win. I wasn’t a fan of the decision to hire him, but some of this constant evaluation of every decision feels a little like Bears fans making every loss about Cutler when he played - even when the defense failed them several times in big spots.

Abreu’s defensive improvement is crazy. If a player had made this large of an improvement on the offensive side, people would probably attribute it to PEDs. I can’t think of many guys who have grown this much defensively. He must have put so much work in.
