  1. Simple rule: If Joe Maddon does it, it's brilliant. To my knowledge, Joe hasn't done this move. Therefore - preposterous suggestion.
  2. There was a pretty good article comparing the Bears' move for Trubisky with the Chargers' move in '98 from 3 to 2. The Chargers paid a ton more, and they ended up with Ryan Leaf. Chargers gave up 1, 2, & two players. Frank Scwab wrote the part I'm referencing. https://sports.yahoo.com/news/bears-trubisk...-194335519.html

  4. Our notoriously frugal president probably just doesn't like that the dinner is a charity event. He can take the insults - bigly. But those poor kids can pay for their own schooling.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 1, 2017 -> 03:03 PM) At least I answer questions and make my comments known. I can't get a straight answer out of anybody on this board. I'm all for the media asking whatever they want, but if you do press, there's a good chance the interview will end abruptly. That reporter did a nice job. He'll be known for his aggressiveness and being a good reporter. He'll never get another interview with Trump, however, which is fine. That probably doesn't bother the reporter. I don't blame Trump for ending the interview, though. They were at an impasse and he kept pressing Trump so Trump, who has the hammer, said bye bye. It's a win/win. The reporter did a nice job being aggressive and will be well known for not backing down. The reporter gave Trump an opportunity to clarify his statement. Trump is on record saying "lying press" & "fake news," etc. So, here he has an opportunity to explain what he meant when he was talking about the wiretapping. And, rather than clarify, he ended the interview. Sure, he has the hammer, but I don't see how you can think he was in the right. As for the WHCD, I'm not sure your interpretation of Trump's position is wrong. Trump would have been roasted, but he would have had an opportunity for rebuttal. The truth is he is very thin skinned. It has been evident since the debates. But, Trump continues to prove that he is just a bully, and as soon as someone turns the table on him or has an opportunity (the reporter & WHCD), he runs and hides. And, Greg, it's ironic that you are getting frustrated by people not answering your questions, but you are defending Trump for doing the same and and being evasive.
  6. Good stuff StrangeSox. I'm pretty sure Trump is becoming da man.
  7. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ May 1, 2017 -> 12:39 AM) Jimmy Carter also skipped WHCD http://www.weeklystandard.com/nixon-carter...article/2007004 The press has been so unfair to Trump. So unfair. They handled Obama & the Clintons with kid gloves.
  8. Lots of Key & Peele names already, and it's only the first round.
  9. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 09:40 AM) <!--quoteo(post=3502843:date=Apr 24, 2017 -> 09:21 AM:name=2005thxfrthmmrs)-->QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 09:21 AM) <!--quotec-->If we are up 2-0 and still manages to lose 4-2 in the first round, there should be pressure fire Gar or Garpax as if we had missed playoffs. Rondo or not, last two games were embarrassing and really displayed the flaws of the roster outside of Butler. It's unlikely the Bulls win another game this series. The first 2 games were an aberration. GARPAX aren't going anywhere. They'll put a positive spin on everything once the season is over. You know how it was good for Fred and their young guys to get some playoff experience, and how Bobby Portis proved he's a good piece to have moving forward. DAT GM TALK. I really hope WADE isn't back next season. (plz don't bring back DROSE either RUH ROH) This video with DRose makes me like him again.
  10. What a great time to be a non-Cubs Chicago sports fan.
  11. If you asked me when Humber threw his perfect game, it's as likely that I would have guessed ten years ago as I would have guessed five. I have no frame of reference for his time with the Sox.
  12. So, the one PBP guy sounds a little like Wayne Larivee, and the color guy sounds like Lars Ulrich.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 12:55 PM) Man, I could copy and paste this all day long in this forum. You can also just pop in here every few days and say, "I don't even understand what you guys are arguing about," and the post wouldn't be out of place at all.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 12:11 PM) Do they not have bridges in Arizona? Well, London Bridge (the London Bridge) is in Lake Havasu. Haven't seen it listed for sale, though.
  15. Hawks have been getting beat to every 50/50 puck. Preds seem faster and bigger. Nice combination.
  16. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 12:08 PM) Yeah, there's no excuses for that one. Probably figured they stopped looking for the old school stuff.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 08:53 PM) Come on craw Yeah, I'm not sure a goalie is supposed to stand straight up and turn his back to the play when he's not sure where the puck is.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 01:47 PM) I thought it meant 'dull' so my bad. I thought it meant dull. I didn't care if somebody thought I was dull. Good movie. It was meant as it was used in "Shawshank." It's not meant as stupid or anything. Just a little thick headed. I truly do find Greg entertaining. Greg posts "x." Someone will post a link that disproves it (as much as any link can or should be trusted). Then, Greg will change his position. I actually appreciate that he is willing to change because it would be nice if others did budge, even a little, from time to time. I actually think Greg's position is that he is sick of the establishment Dems and Reps, and that is why he likes the outsiders (Trump, Obama, Sanders) who were not the traditional candidates when they ran. I think Greg is really a third party, independent candidate type, but I can't for the life of me understand how he seems to be ok with Trump the President. Trump the ideal (outsider, drain the swamp, make government efficient), I can see why Greg is drawn to that. But, Trump immediately did a 180 when he got in office and has changed almost everything that he stood for when he was running. I don't think any President has ever done this so quickly. Anyway, nothing terrible was meant by the obtuse comment. Or, maybe I'd just like to avoid a week in "the hole."
  19. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 12:53 PM) I don't think most people are swayed by propoganda. I'm certain you are wrong about this.
  20. Glad to see Sale get a win. I'd like him to win the. Cy Young this year.
  21. This has the feel of last year's series with the Blues. I remember thinking, "This team may actually be better than us." Nashville is just dominating the Hawks. One shot for our offense max. They seem to skate freely between the blue lines 1 leading to quality shots on Crawford. They're parked in front of our net, and we have nobody in front of Rinne. Hawks need to explode in game 3.
  22. I assume we'll end up with Tim Tebow at some point. Toolsy outfielder.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 09:00 AM) These meds aren't helping his paw. He's fine one day, the other he is limping around. Been told to look into fish oils. Anyone use em? My boxer had a terrible arthritis in his hips. He could hardly put any pressure on his leg at times, couldn't jump, had trouble getting out of the laying down position. He was super athletic before the arthritis, too. Anyway, we brought him to a few vets, and they gave us some pain meds, but he didn't really get better. I thought we were going to have to put him down. Then, someone recommended this OTC supplement called "Super Joint Enhancer." We ordered it from 1800PetMeds, and it worked, but not immediately. In fact, after a week or so, it didn't seem like he was getting better, so my wife called back and they refunded our money. I kept giving our dog the pills, and after about another week, we noticed improvement. He stil had some problems, but he started running around again and being playfulL. It's worth a try. The pills are a little expensive (around $50), but they constantly send discount offers, so yo can get a deal.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 14, 2017 -> 03:59 PM) Hey, I declined my family's offer to return to Chicago for Easter this year mainly because my sister has lost it at least temporarily and screams at relatives left and right and I didn't want to deal with it. Surely you've explained to her that you hate Hillary, but also didn't vote for Trump. You're more of a Bernie/Jesse guy.... Easter's as much of a holiday as the rest. Family gets together, overeats, has some festivities. Everything about it screams holiday. The religion part is for the religious, just like Christmas.
