This is how I feel about the Super Bowl. I’d be ecstatic if I never got invited to another SB party and could just sit and watch the game myself.

Jesse Rogers: Sox Sign Benintendi - 5yr / $75M
Middle Buffalo replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If we’re never really “at the table” for big-time FAs, trading our prospects and/or cost-controlled you guys (eg. Vaughn) is a bad idea for the long term of the Sox. Unfortunately, I think we’ll have to deal guys like Moncada/Robert/TA as they approach the end of their deals and hope our minor league players/trade recipients can step up and fill in. -
I wish they would have developed him to bat left handed and play right field. He’d fit perfectly in the ‘23 lineup.
-
It will be a good excuse for me to stop paying attention to the Sox. Under current ownership, I don’t have any hope of the Sox competing financially with other teams.
-
At this point, let’s just pick up Benintendi or Conforto and be done with the offseason. I’m tired of checking to see if anything happened and afraid Lenny/Hahn will make yet another dumb trade.

TLR was a disaster, but they still made the playoffs his first season. Biggest blunder was going to pay tv and dumping Harry Carey not long after buying the team. Lost a generation of fans.

I got an email from “Portillo’s Hot Dogs” this morning and my first thought was a White Sox source was giving me some insider info.

I’m confused. Is there another Greg?

It’s the date they won game 4 against Houston.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?

40 minutes of hell - Soxtalk version. -
I’ll be rooting for the Phillies in the WS, but I’m glad the Astros knocked the Yankees out.

Is Tom Brady really going to go out with a whimper like so many greats before him?

You’d think JR would’ve learned from the dysfunction of his Bulls’ two-headed GarPax monster and just let Hahn sink or swim on his own. You’d think…. Instead, we’ll be left guessing who hired the manager and made player decisions - Hahn, KW, or, ugh, TLR.
-
This made me laugh today. Remember, as disappointing as this season was, it used to be way worse to be a Sox fan.

[RUMORS] Possible clubhouse drama information leaked?
Middle Buffalo replied to joejoesox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Maybe I’m crazy, but I believe most of it. The Hahn, TLR, KW dynamic makes no sense. They simply can’t have 3 guys making personnel decisions. The Ohtani offer seems ridiculous. On potential of the Sox players mentioned alone, making that deal prior to this season would have been dumb. A team with limited resources can’t give away 7 young, cost-controlled players for one. -
Very disappointing, for sure, but the 1984 White Sox are still at the top of my list. Coming off a 99 win season with the returning ROY & Cy Young, they stumbled to 74 wins. I still don’t understand how that team crumbled so quickly.

This ^ is pretty amazing.

I guess my math’s a bit off…lol Rain would be a fitting end though.

One under, .500, or one over are all perfect. Feels like they spent the entire season bouncing between those three.

Agree.

I give TLR credit for owning the failures. It’s obviously not 100% his fault, but he had a significant role. Roster construction, players not actually executing to expectations, and player fitness also played a big hand. I would add that TLR looked physically terrible all season. It makes sense in retrospect that he has some health issue that’s affected him all season. He claimed it never impacted his ability to manage, but there’s no doubt in my mind it did. I’m glad he’s gone, but good luck to him going forward. I hope he retires completely. No need for a role in the organization.
-
He was definitely one of the root problems. I still can’t understand how astonishingly bad his in-game decisions were. I don’t wish him ill health, either, but good riddance.

The funny thing is ex-players constantly talk about the NFL legislating hitting out of football. They even talk about knowing to say it was a different body part so they can continue playing when they “get their bells rung”. The same guys will now be going after the league and Dolphins for letting Tua play. A lot of these injuries come down to the players having respect for one another and not diving at knees, twisting legs, slamming guys to the ground, turning into missiles to deliver head shots, etc. That looked really bad for Tua, though. Hopefully he’s ok.

I’m just glad I’m not obligated to start the next GT.
