QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 07:52 AM) 3 pages in and no love for Intellivision yet? Heck, I still have mine from when I was a kid (bought in '79 I think) hooked up! Just this summer I found a back-up system at a garage sale, with original manual, for a whopping $0.50!!! We also have my wife's Colecovision hooked up. That one we still have the original box for! Intellivision baseball (where the guys kind of moved like frogs) was great, and they also had a computer add-on with an even better baseball game. It had player names and profiles. Great for the time. Here's a link to the intellivion basketball game. No NBA rights, so Larry Bird was "Larry Hawk." http://www.intvfunhouse.com/games/slam.php I can't believe how dated it looks *tear*.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) Anyone who uses the wraparound in 94 is a cheap son of a b****. It's a complete glitch. Tecmobowl 2 had a similar glitch. You could sack the qb on every play with your nosetackle if you just moved him down one step and then made him dive. I had a roommate who played a season by himself and used that move every time to sack the qb. I could never understand how that could possibly be fun. Great game, though.

Schilling Has Diarrhea of the Mouth ... Again
Middle Buffalo replied to Greg The Bull Luzinski's topic in The Diamond Club
I'm glad the article points out that when Schilling was in front of Congress he totally backed off earlier statements about the steroid problem in baseball. -

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 08:13 PM) Aren't you a male? I'm waiting for the follow-up post asking how to get rid of those pesky bikini lines before I pass judgment. -
QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) Back in the day, I got 2 bottles of Michael Jordan cologne for X-mas. I still have one bottle because it smells so bad. Never used it. Good that you worked through a bottle before realizing that you smelled like one of MJ's jockstraps. Your friends must have loved you for that.

Byrnes and Rowand in the same outfield...
Middle Buffalo replied to wilmot825's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Byrnes is a phony hustle type. He times plays so he can dive and jump. This is a career year - he's not worth the money he'll want. -
The "Who's Now?" feature on SportsCenter may be the dumbest thing they've ever done. Perfect vehicle for the "talent" of Meshawn and Stu Scott, though.

Boras says A-Rod assured to reach $30M annually
Middle Buffalo replied to Pants Rowland's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(Beltin @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 09:38 AM) Anyone still think the White Sox are going to go after A-Rod? NY would have to pick up an awful lot of that salary (say 75%) for it to work in this budget. If ARod opts out of his contract, he's no longer a Yankee. Why would they pay 75% of his salary? I don't think he'll get $30 million if he opts out. The Yankees are one of the only teams that can afford to pay that amount - and even they would have trouble doing that and satisfying the rest of their team. Right now, ARod makes $27 million, and Texas pays a good chunk of that. That's why the Yankees want to extend the contract starting in 2010, because Texas is still on the hook for a portion of his salary until then. If ARod opts out, the Yankees will let him walk (he's not a "true Yankee" anyway, right, so the fans wouldn't take it out on management, they'd take it out on ARod). ARod wouldn't want to return to Yankee stadium as a visitor, so he'll end up in the NL with the Cubs or Dodgers. However, there's a pretty good chance he'll take what the Yankees are offering. Nobody is going to make a mistake like the Rangers did and offer him way more than the market price, and with so few teams available to pay big money, he might not even get what he makes now. -
You have EIGHT lightbulbs in your bathroom. Al Gore does not like you.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) I heard that exact same "smove" story, except it was a guy calling 911 and the word was "smoothie" instead. Ha, perhaps we know the same person, CC. I've heard the exact same story CC wrote from two different people. My sister told me that story 20 years ago about a fireman friend, and the word used was "smoove." My father in law tells the same story (also with "smoove" as the word), but he says he was there on an ambulance assist when it happened. He was a Chicago fireman until 15 years ago. I'm pretty sure this story is an urban myth.

QUOTE(max power @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 09:38 PM) I thought more people would care about the archive threads. I don't as I just discovered the internet in 2006. Personally, I am all for a better faster board. I have a hard copy of each of my posts. They're all pretty brilliant. I'll make copies for anyone interested.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 05:42 PM) Clearly I'm the only person here without an iPOD/MP3 player. I've had one for six months, but I haven't figured it out yet. I'm sure it would be full of songs and artists most of you have never heard, though.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) The Governor of Texas said that once, if I recall correctly. That must be why Knight ended up in Texas. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/8...eme.html?page=3

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 05:47 AM) I don't get it. Is that about the size of the stinger? It's about the motion in the ocean, and as Bobbee Knight once quipped, "If bee rape is inevitable, just lay back and enjoy it."

Sheff says Latino players easier to control

He makes enough money from the Stern show to support himself. Unfortunately, he's a boozer/druggie/gambler and needs to do stand up to support those habits. I feel bad for him. "Waaaah, I'm a big, fat druggie who can't control himself. Waaaah!"

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 23, 2007 -> 01:16 PM) The way he explains it, the guy who started the Score was at his hot dog stand mentioning the possibility of starting a sports radio channel, and North wouldnt leave him alone until he gave him a chance. North made his own tape and got hired. When North was inducted into some hall of fame recently they played the tape, it was hilariously bad. And he didnt sound the same AT ALL. I think he also used to buy time to do a radio show before he started with the score, while he still sold hot dogs. North should dust off the old "Hug a Black Day" bit when he gets to NYC. It would be a perfect way to pay tribute to Imus and make amends for Imus' sins.

QUOTE(Wedge @ May 23, 2007 -> 09:07 AM) Favor: Can nobody post spoilers or even hints of the spoilers in this thread? This is like the one message board I can go to and hopefully count on not seeing something on the level of "Snape kills Dumbledore". I really appreciate it! Snape killed Dumbledore?

A used teabag usually does the trick. Try one from Lipton, not one from a roommate.
