QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:18 AM) How long was it stuck on the: "Processing... Please wait while we process your request. We'll ask you for your billing address and credit card information in just a moment. If you refresh this page or hit the back button, you will lose your place in line." ??? I've been waiting for 16 minutes! On this same damn page! I thought I got through but now it froze before I could give my credic card info!!! :( :( :( :( I didn't really get them, I just wanted to see what it felt like to type it. I've now been waiting 20 minutes for the word to appear. About to give up.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) Just got 4 for game 1. Not really. Still waiting for the secret word to appear.

Just got 4 for game 1.

QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) there were no more than 1500 seats available to each game.... Can they reconfigure the upper deck to its original state before Saturday?

QUOTE(Linnwood @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) Same for me. Thank You TicketMaster! 10 minutes and counting waiting for the word to appear. I guess they're just busy getting my 4 tickets ready for when I place my order.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 06:00 AM) Look here Mr. Roboto, it's High Time you take a Midnight Ride since you're obviously Born For Adventure and are such a Lonely Child, Babe. Since this is the First Time in a long time (and we may be living on Borrowed Time) that the Sox are in the World Series, and we are just waiting for The Grande Finale, we should get along. But obviously you think you're The Great White Hope and you have to spend your time mocking me. So why don't you and the other Superstars get through this little Cold War? Chris Berman's ghost writer makes himself known to the masses.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) Thanks! No problem. I'm so glad I found this site (just before the season). It's made an incredible season that much more enjoyable. Lots of cool people. Lots of good discussion. I seriously can't believe this is happening.

I don't know who's responsible, but the banner at the top of the page is excellent! Good work.

Man, I wish that search function was enabled. You could all look up my previous posts and see that I predicted this before the season - including the four straight complete games to clinch the pennant.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) Wilbon isn't on the bandwagon. Just wants to see a team from Chicago win. He admits all of the time he is a Cubs fan, not a Sox fan. Generally speaking, as people get older and/or move away from Chicago, they aren't as anti-Sox or anti-Cubs as they were when they were younger and had to work side by side with the other team's fans. It's been almost 100 years since either team won, so I think some people just think, "what the hell, I just want a Chicago team to win." Personally, I just want the Sox to win before the Cubs do. This year would be a good time to get that done. Joey Cora, please put your hands in your pockets this weekend.

Anyone ever hear the one that goes like this?: "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Go go white sox, ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba" I remember hearing it on the radio a long time ago, and I don't know if it's a full song, or if it was one of the players on the '59 sox doing it.

Try one of those bars near 111th/Western. I'm sure they'll all be packed with Sox fans.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) I believe it's that fact that makes this whole discussion moot. Two little words that were never said: "He's out". I agree with this. AJ had caught the entire game, and it kind of seems like, as he was walking back to his dugout, he realized that he didn't hear an out call (unlike what he had heard the entire game on strikeouts). He turned, took a couple of uncertain steps, the took off running. Paul had just entered the game, so he wouldn't be as familiar with this particular ump's out call. He assumed that the ump called the batter out when he raised his arm, but didn't realize the lack of a verbal out call meant the play was still alive. Anyway, just a thought. I'll bet the Angels will be looking for the full Frank Drebbin strikeout call for the rest of the series.

QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) And for the one millionth time, Pods has got to stop trying to steal 2nd. Absolutely. Pods is obviously not at full speed. If he's running, the batter better be swinging.

QUOTE(Bias @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) My concern is that they make too much out of last night. Scotty getting gunned down on the pitch out, AJ running for who knows why, not getting the job done (bunts) etc. I'm concerned because after they ran themselves out of a couple of innings it seemed guys weren't as aggressive. Case in point, I don't think there was any way anybody could've thrown Uribe out @ 2nd after the wild throw. No way Erstad gets to the ball in time and makes a Bo Jackson like throw to gun him down and Molina was even further away than Erstad. Uribe SHOULD'VE been on standing on 2b. I think if the score was tied and they hadn't run themselves out of a couple innings Uribe wouldn't have hesitated going to second. They gave one away, if they get their focus back they'll be allright. Not saying they WILL win it, but at least they won't give games away and win games they should. Uribe did his best to pull a Dybber when he overran 2nd base on the hit to right field. I almost had a heart attack.

QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) ozzie was totally outmanaged tonight. Players failed to execute. If Ozzie puts calls for a bunt, and Pods can't come close to getting it down (then looks at strike 3), how is that a managerial error?

What was up with todays crowd?
Middle Buffalo replied to Whitewashed in '05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I listened to the first 3 innings on the radio (ESPN), and the crowd sounded really loud. From what I saw on tv, the crowd was not as loud as in the earlier innings, but the Sox lack of execution would probably be the cause of that. -
QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) He was advised not to play golf by his doctor, because of the retinal surgery he had earlier this year, so that was probably true. Martha Burke would have a fit if they let pirates on the course, but not women. So, out of respect, Hawk stayed away.

QUOTE(GasHeGone @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) Dear Party People of Soxtalk.com, Now that the Sox have finally proven themselves worthy of some national media respect, we all may have a tendency to buy into some of bulls*** that those ESPN ass-clowns spit up when they talk White Sox. 1) There's a Trib article today on ChicagoSports.com with a byline reading "White Sox Nation?" Now, unfortunately this is a term that has been gaining popularity in recent days and I f***ing hate it. People on these boards have used it occasionally. We aren't the Red Sox. Stop calling us White Sox Nation. It's really annoying. 2) Chris "When I talk, s*** comes out" Berman likes to refer to the Curse of Shoeless Joe. Please. Stop. Sox fans, don't buy into the bulls***. Let's keep it real like we always do, all the way to the World Series. Go Sox. Fine. I won't call it White Sox Nation anymore, but I'm keeping the t-shirt.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) I'm sick of listening to Berman. I have a hard time watching Prime Time because of him. I stopped, cold turkey. ESPN's worst is Stu Scott.

"Oooh, I hope Manny's back there doing his business."

I'm not looking forward to seeing these people when they pan the crowd for "celebs."

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) The MLB might be testing for steroids right now (however mediocre the testing process may be) but they still aren't testing for HGH and a couple othere perfomance enhancing substances. I can't stand the bulls*** people spew, I have no idea how many times I've heard "See he's putting up great numbers without the aid of performance enhancing drugs, he's a great pure talent and needs no foreign substance to help him succeed." when in fact there is absolutely no f***ing gaurantee at all that anyone in baseball is "clean". They still don't test for everything and the current testing process is flawed beyond belief. Once they put a test for HGH and everything else in place then maybe I'll believe that some of these guys are doing what they're doing on their own and without the help of a performance enhancing substance, until then I refuse to just say that a guy is clean because of the current testing. Exactly, and you can be certain that a guy who cheated once wouldn't be afraid to cheat again. They know exactly what MLB is testing for, and the drug makers are always one step ahead of the tests.
