  1. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. We're playing great & don't mess with the team's chemistry. Chavez's contract is pretty big to take too. I'd wait to tinker with the lineup when it's closer to the deadline (if necessary).
  2. Maybe he has been feedin' the geese too much. Deformed his hands.
  3. Damn. Someone just got b**** slapped. Good points
  4. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ May 12, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) I love this- we are 25-9 and most critics can't stand it! Keep on winning boys! Yeah, that's about the only thing that makes this enjoyable. Eat crow or s***, either one is fine with me b/c the white sox are winning.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ May 12, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) Those comments make me laugh the most.. it's like arguing with a 2 year old who's final comment is always.... "oh yea....... well... I'm tellin mom". That's what makes it so frustrating. These national figures have no clue what's going on. Rob, pull your head out of your ass & write like a grown up!
  6. I like all these cracks on the stadium. Uh, when was the last time you were there? Did you know they invested the royalities from the naming rights back into the stadium? $60 or $80 million (i don't remember the exact figure). Alot has changed since since its opening. I'm sick of these guys and their pissing match over Boston, the Yanks, & the Chubbies.
  7. I found that in Indy through Dish Network, Comcast is part of the basic package. Channel 429 & $30/month
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 4, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) Oh man. You've got to appreciate the well thought out sarcasm behind that post. That was great. I'm with you. I got a good laugh out of it.
  9. What about bring Ed Farmer over from the radio broadcast? I enjoy those 2 on the radio (I can't remember the other guys name).
  10. QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 06:32 AM) He leaned into it and it should have been called. Doesn't matter to me if it's never called against Biggio or anyone else. It was blatant and obvious. Crede's inability to get over it was what bothered me. DJ (I think it was him) kept saying that the ball was well within the batters box, therefore I Crede "can't" get out of the way, he's at first base. Is this true?
  11. QUOTE(bulokis @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) What do you guys think of bringing in another bullpen guy? We have five bench players and it seems like its hard to get them at bats especially when we need to keep our starters to find their swings. I don't think that's a bad idea at all. A little more depth in the pen couldn't hurt.
  12. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) Every time someone comes to the Jim Rome show for an interview...after that he and/or his team does really well I am sure there are exceptions, but I follow Rome on radio from time to time and there is a strong co-relation there Jermaine Dye was sucking. He came on Rome/radio and next day he had the big game. Exactly. Dye's HR was attributed to the jungle (name of his show) karma. It's kind of a joking thing he has going on. If someone sucks after an appearance, he will ignore it or blame someone else. It's actually pretty funny.
  13. I'd have Shingo on a short leash w/ Marte ready to go.
  14. Ozzie was on Jim Rome today. It's not like we really needed it, but with Dye & Ozzie we got our share of the jungle karma. Nothing worthwhile to post from the interview.
  15. QUOTE(IndplsSoxFan @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) What throwback uniforms have they worn in the past? I know of the '83, '59, & '19. Is there another era of uniforms they've worn? Anybody? Going once, going twice...
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Here's mine Damn, I'm at work. Put up a waiver for that link!!
  17. What throwback uniforms have they worn in the past? I know of the '83, '59, & '19. Is there another era of uniforms they've worn?
  18. Contest? I think we already have a winner from those pics.
  19. Is their a schedule posted for the games which the Sox will be wearing the throwback uniforms? ...Or is it just random/unannounced? I imagine that during one of the game with the Dodgers they'll both be wearing the '59 uniforms, but what about the rest of the season?
  20. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:13 AM) Welcome as well! And you'll be hearing a lot from Steff! She's like the Queen Bee, Mother Hen, whatever the hell you want to call it, of this board. Ha! That's good to know. I'll watch my language around her. BTW, what kind of perks do the season ticket holders get?
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:05 AM) Maybe, but it might backfire on them. People who bought the seats probably wouldn't like it too much. It's kind of like, I heard a rumor, that some season ticket holders didn't like the idea of there being so many half price nights. Can't make everyone happy. The full priced ticket is a gurantee that you will be in that seat. Otherwise you don't know if you'll be buying a s***ty seat or a great seat. That's the difference with the premiem price tag.
  22. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) Here's an idea: Say there's 60 Scout seats (Don't know if that's correct. Work with me here) and on a particular night they have 20 seats full. At the beginning of the game they should upgrade 40 people from "bad" seats to the scout seats as a promotional type thing. It does look bad on TV with the empty seats. That's what I'm talking about. The management should do something to fill those seats. I does look bad on TV, especially when we're playing the Twins. In order to increase our fanbase (or even interest), it has to at least appear desirable to others. Steff, thanks for the welcome.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:26 AM) Wrong. And it's not $175, it's $170 and it includes parking and all you can eat and drink. Complaining about the park not being filled... :rolly How many games you been to so far..?? I've been to one this season, but I have a 3 hr. drive to get to the Cell. I'd love to have the luxury to catch an evening game after work. If I want to catch a game I have to factor in 6 hours on the road. I just would think that it's better to fill those seats, even if you're not getting the premiem price for them. I took an economics class where they evaluated leaving the seats empty on an airplane vs. taking less money for the ticket. The organization comes out ahead when they receive something (even if it's less than desired) instead of the seat being left empty. The game will be played regardless (...or the flight will leave), they might as well improve the appearence of an increase in demand for catching a game live and receive some income instead of none. Plus it would give others a chance to live it up, even if they're not in the highest economic imcome bracket.
  24. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) $175? Man they better guarantee victory for those kind of bones. That's ridiculous What's ridiculous is that they end up empty. They should scale the prices down closer to game time to fill those seats.
