  1. How many of the 22nd picks were top 20 prospects? At this point in his career, he's beyond where most 22nd picks were. Don't bother looking it up, you win. You guys can continue your your circle jerk of hating everything White Sox, including the prospects, players and fans.
  2. He's a Midwest HS pick who had 111 MiLB PA's before the age of 20. He advanced 3 levels in a single season and hit some adversity in AAA. Montgomery will undoubtedly play in the majors and will most likely stick for a while based on being a LH bat with excellent patience, solid defense and good power. That's his floor. Nobody ruined Colson Montgomery.
  3. I see him ahead of where he should be given his draft position and history - Indiana HS player - while being in the Sox organization the entire time. I'm curious how the Sox ruined him while having him pretty far ahead of where the vast, vast majority of 22nd picks ever end up being.
  4. Montgomery was a 22nd overall pick out of HS who climbed to a top 20 prospect on pretty much every ranking, struggled in AAA while being among the youngest players in the league, and the Sox screwed him up? Explain.
  5. When a post starts with "domestic violence enthusiast," you can be sure you're getting a fair assessment.
  6. You gotta be seriously invested in the role to complain about waiver claims.
  7. The issue isn't what we got for Kopech, it's what we didn't get for Fedde.
  8. One thing I found interesting that Venable said was about his experience in the draft room and the deadline room. I wonder if Getz targeted him to have some help in those areas. If so, that makes the hire even better.
  9. I don't know why everyone is convinced Kopech is "fixed." He's always been capable of looking great for short stretches.
  10. I misread his stats and was very, very wrong. The shame, the horror.
  11. I thought they played hard all season. They were just terrible. Robert was the only guy who seemed like he didn't give a s%*#.
  12. He said he saw them show energy. He didn't say they were good.
  13. Depends on how permanent his back problems are.
  14. "Half their bullpens." Obviously that's not true and you're being overly emotional because you're into gaining Internet credit. Of all the bad moves the Sox have made, trading middling relievers is the last on the list. There are a ton of reasons to hate the Sox moves, but Kopech and Bummer are so low down on the list that you're not even trying.
  15. Basically, middle relievers are volatile and Kopech has a 7 era in this year's playoffs. Good talk.
  16. On this very page, you have people complaining about risky extensions and trading away players every time they get good. lol
  17. Those extensions are a gamble, but a completely necessary one in this environment.
  18. Yup. The previous team becoming oft injured massive disappointments tanked is for the long run.
  19. Only 3 of those players actually hit free agency. Again, you're the only one who mentioned spending money. That's not what I'm talking about. As I've stated several times.
  20. Haha. This response is really bad. So you're admitting that those players were acquired via trade and equating that to free agency. People complain about the quality of the free agency class every year, and it's because teams don't allow their players to get to FA anymore. Just admit you're wrong and let's move on. Again, nobody ever said to not spend money.
  21. Take a look at the Yankees roster and see how many of their players were acquired via FA. I never said not to spend money. I said the days of just buying a contender are pretty much over.
  22. Considering Venable has turned down multiple jobs in the past, I would imagine he wouldn't accept this one if he didn't have considerable autonomy.
  23. This isn't the way baseball works anymore. Teams don't let their players get to FA. You can't just buy a team, and it hasn't been like that for a while. Every year people complain about the FA class for a reason.
  24. Aren't we done hiring old drunk guys?
  25. That's not how this works in America. In America, one has to prove an accusation, not the other way around. Had MLB disciplined Clevinger, I'd be right there behind you, but they never did, because he didn't actually do the things he was accused of. Thankfully I live in a world where the pointy hats aren't able to just hang people at will. I live in a world where people are afforded the right to defend themselves. Maybe you guys will get your chance if Project 2025 comes to fruition.
