  1. Did I not preface my post with the qualifier of proximity being the leading indicator?
  2. Tray's post - "The City of Chicago is mainly black and Hispanic within its City limits" He's 100% correct.
  3. Can you not add? - white 33% - black and Hispanic - 57%.
  4. The entire list of Southside neighborhoods with a majority white population: Mount Greenwood - 83.4% Beverly - 91.3% Canaryville - 56.3% If proximity to the park is an indicator of fandom, then it's reasonable to assume Sox fans would lean non-white.
  5. There are more black and hispanic Chicagoans than white. That's just a fact. I'm not sure what that says about the demographics of Sox fans, but proximity seems like a reasonable deduction. It's certainly not a racist one.
  6. That jersey's definitely worth the price of admission. Even though the team is pure trash, going to the park is still fun. The Sox do a great job at fan experience.
  7. The Sox don't give a s%*# about the idle threats of the fanbase. They're still several years away from "being decent," but Robert definitely won't be part of that. Robert has nobody to blame but himself for the Sox failures.
  8. He won't be part of the core the next time we're decent, so you have to trade him. Easy decision.
  9. Then please leave. There's a reason most of the regulars on this board don't post on the main board. Read the room.
  10. Like others have said, if you could keep your pseudo Fathom routine on the other board and leave this one alone, that would be great.
  11. Not a big fan of demoting Leasure. I think he's earned the right to take his lumps on the big league team.
  12. I actually think he profiles a lot like our favorite infielder - Marcus Semien. Less pop but more contact.
  13. DeJong, Sheets, Robert, Lee and sometimes Vaughn are literally the only MLB caliber position players on the entire team.
  14. I couldn't give a s%*# about Grifol, but I will give him some credit in that this is the least talented team I've ever seen and they're at least somewhat competitive. A decent bullpen probably gives them 10 more wins. This season is far less painful than the last few, where we had a lot of talent on paper and they played like trash. I had zero expectations so I don't care if we win or lose.
  15. Let's not count the chickens before they hatch. Gonzalez is just an interesting in that he's really divisive. I see a pro hitter with a good eye and a solid frame to build on. Others see him as an unathletic kid with an ugly swing. He's kind of an old school player.
  16. Yeah, but he was especially nasty towards Jacob. I like Law and thought it was ridiculous.
  17. Keith Law drug his name through the dirt and Law has a cult like following. That alone will make it more memorable.
  18. Gonzalez's turnaround has been incredible. The power will come. He's got a great frame and the home runs he does hit are bombs.
  19. Since the change up is the least sexy pitch in baseball, I don't think some people recognize just how impressive his change up can be. He's going to strike a lot of hitters out. If he threw 97 or 98, you're looking at the number 1 prospect in baseball.
  20. It can't feel good to be both bad at your job, and in the public eye. If they were losing and having fun, fans would be even more brutal than they already are.
  21. Of course there are cliques. That doesn't mean toxic. Most starters want to be left alone when they're in the dugout. That's been common for the entire history of baseball. Robert obviously doesn't want to be here, and he can go. Again, nothing about this says there is toxicity in the clubhouse.
  22. He's one of the few pitchers that should live on the outside of the plate. If he's spotting that fastball on the corner, the change is unhittable. Then, he can mix in some cutters and 4 seamers up and in. If he can do those things, he's going to have a very long career as a number 3 or 4.
  23. Maybe, maybe not. They'll get good value and I'd prefer he isn't around the new crop of players coming to the team.
  24. We need the prospects Robert can provide a lot more than Robert. I'm skeptical of building around the feature player on a failed team. He's just bad vibes.
