  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 04:04 PM) My buddy sat there yesterday after the 4th inning nobody said a word. Chloroform?
  2. This guys really hitting with the mask on? Jesus Christ.
  3. There's some truth to what Greg says. Jones has a high maintenance delivery that's hard to repeat. He reminds me of Brad Lidge.
  4. I think Jones will always be a rhythm pitcher and lose his release point frequently.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:38 PM) Garcia is younger than Trayce Thompson. Trayce is better looking. I'm just seeing some natural thing Avi does that concern me. Bad reads. Bad swing plane. I ignored them last year because we were so god awful last year. After reading some things this off season, it seems like there might be some issues that aren't correctable.
  6. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:37 PM) Joe Jackson played LF. Did he pass the eye test?
  7. I know I talk about not jumping to conclusions a lot, but color me concerned about Garcia. Come on Trayce!
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:22 PM) Yeah that's the worst argument ever. Every manager he's ever played for would agree. Guys with good arms don't play 2nd and LF.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:21 PM) UZR and DRS don't agree with that, especially not at the beginning of his career. I don't know where you get the idea that Soriano can't throw. You can say he has awful range or doesn't know how to play the outfield (he looks so lost sometimes), but I don't think you can say he can't throw. If stats say he has a good arm, it's even more evidence those are garbage stats. The eye test says he throws like a girl.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:16 PM) Soriano has/had one of the best arms in baseball. He's regularly tops in OFers in assists (He's #4 among active players right now). UZR and DRS also liked his arm (especially when he first started playing the OF). Assists don't equal good arm. It simply means more teams are willing to run on you. Soriano throws like a girl.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) Range is more important than the fielder's arm in every outfield position. I'd rather have 3 Brett Gardners than 3 Alfonso Sorianos in my outfield. Don't they both throw like girls?
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:06 PM) What if Dunn has a career year hoping to get a new hefty contract somewhere? Maybe our new hitting coach is great. We're actually hitting lousy pitchers this year the way they deserve to be hit. If Dunn has a career year, he's a borderline MVP.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:04 PM) All I can do is defer to the opinion of two former major league outfielders who both have played RF at US Cellular. DJ usually doesn't make excuses for players (he was all over them about the botched rundown). Are you actually watching or just listening?
