  1. The worst defenders play LF because LH hitters put more English on the ball. The reads in LF are much easier.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:57 PM) The first one wasn't the read, it was the lights...the second one, he was playing way too shallow. Of course, they should have realized that Collabello can hit a fastball by that point. He got a bad jump. Simple as that. His reads cost us 2 runs yesterday too.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:53 PM) As long as he can hit 20-25 homers per season, he'll be a valuable player...assuming his OBP is much higher than Viciedo's, for example. If not, he's just another version of Dayan with more athleticism/potential...perhaps a bit higher average, but fairly similar results. I don't think his natural swing plane will generate power. He gets no lift. He'll have to overhaul his entire swing to be a power hitter. Add some uppercut.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:51 PM) LOL, just remember to eat crow when the 22 year old in RF ends up being a good player for the Sox. I'm just commenting about 2 games. He's literally cost us 6 runs over 2 games with his reads.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:49 PM) Had him playing way too shallow for a clean-up hitter there. (Remember all the talk about Garcia playing CF?) Ramirez got fooled by the location of the pitch to Mauer...it was down and in and he started moving towards second, expecting him to pull it, but he should have known that he would take that pitch and go the opposite way with it. Quintana shaken now. Eight strikeouts, though. He broke the wrong way. It's like watching Aaron Rowand all over. Every play is an adventure.
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:48 PM) You do not put a bad RF and move him to LF it is the other way around.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:47 PM) Avi going to play himself into a left fielder. He's worse than Dye and Quentin out there. He hits like a 2nd baseman. Detroit may be fat and ugly, but they aren't stupid.
  8. You have to be kidding me. That's 3 horse s*** Garcia plays that cost us runs in 2 games.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:31 PM) Tell that to Balta/B. Or 75% of White Sox fans. Yes, the talent has changed, quite a bit. But that kind of inning has been going on since the last two weeks of 2012...seemingly on an endless loop. Do you access to the thoughts of 75% of Sox fans, or do you make up arbitrary numbers to support your thoughts?
  10. If there was ever a time for Tyler to cheat fast ball.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) Quintana's absolutely nasty today. It's a shame Flowers and the defense cost him a shot at going deep in this game. Flowers passed ball was the most excusable. It was a ball that was swung at and in the dirt. The rundown was bush league and Avi's BS dive attempt were just pathetic.
  12. Sometimes I wonder why there aren't more dugout fights. I would have lit my teammates up if I was Q.
  13. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:13 PM) Garcia's horrendous defence really hurts his overall value. Combine that with his tendency to hit the ball on the ground and he has a long way to go. I'm not liking him. He has Willie Mays Hayes game in Alex Rodriguez' body.
  14. Avi's a s***ty RF. He had a horrible play yesterday that cost 2 runs too.
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 01:58 PM) Funny, he never played there. What an abortion of a run down play. Jesus Christ. How do MLB teams not know how to execute this. If it was an abortion, wouldn't they have gotten the runner out?
  16. Abreu was making a citizen arrest. Good citizen.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 01:57 PM) What if he half makes an out like that? Did he put his mask on?
  18. Escobar is going to rob a bank if he makes an out.
  19. That dive by whatever hack the Twins are running out to 1st base today was a good way to separate your shoulder.
  20. If Flowers ever figures out how to guess right, he can hit 25 HR's just running into pitches. That bat speed tho.
  21. Tyler, you're going to get a first ball fastball on every AB. You might as well get the bat started early.
  22. I love watching Quintana pitch. I don't know anybody can say he doesn't have good stuff. He makes good hitters look awful.
