  1. QUOTE (staxx @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 09:09 PM) how in the world did they not get into Detroit until 4 am when they were flying from chicago? cost cutting to team buses? Alcohol
  2. You know when you go from a guy named Al Alburquerque to Phil Coke, you're playing baseball. #lovethisgame
  3. When's the last time we batted around?
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 08:57 PM) He's obviously got something going on. His stuff is so good that he's still a good pitcher, but that contract may look horrible in a couple years I think the Tigers are going to be in a real tough payroll situation soon. Franchise crippling. They better pray they win it all this year.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 08:57 PM) Wow, that was freaking impressive That's a strong kid.
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 08:51 PM) UZR is an advanced fielding metric compiled by humans using objective measures on film to rate each and every defensive play. UZR suggests (as you might remember) that he was horrible and one of the worst defensive shortstops in baseball during pretty much his entire stint in Cleveland. He became average over the next year or two in Detroit and rates as excellent in the past two seasons and pretty good so far this year. Who are these people that judge it? Do they know what they're looking at? Do they account for hitting tendencies and situations. I have no doubt Peralta has become a more cerebral defender with experience, but he has garbage tools.
  7. I saw Verlander go up against Darvish in the beginning of year. His velocity was way down and he was throwing a ton of change ups. It doesn't look like that's changed. I think his arm is ouchie. I wouldn't want him being my number 1 starter in the playoffs.
  8. I don't even know what UZR is. I've seen Peralta play defense for years and he sucks.
  9. Who cares how many errors Peralta has? He's got the range of a turnip. Agenda Hawk is even worse than happy Hawk.
  10. ADA would give Carlos Lee a run for his money.
  11. Has Phegley always been that big? Those numbers are eyebrow raising. We need something to believe in. I hope he's legit.
  12. There isn't a player on either team with an .800 OPS.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 02:57 PM) Alexei is far from perfect, but one day we'll miss having a shortstop that makes those plays look easy I've been saying it for a while, but we've been spoiled with good play at SS for about a decade. Ramirez might be the most under appreciated Sox player of my lifetime. Seriously.
  14. I almost feel guilty for rooting for this kid to fail, but what do you expect when you have weirdos busting a nut every time he comes to the plate.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 09:20 PM) My outlook when I'm watching Sox games is to just wait for Dunn's next AB to see if he goes deep You ain't lyin. I pretty much only watch to see Dunn, Viciedo and Flowers hit.
  16. My source is telling me he went for the pancakes over the waffles. Word on the street is he's leaning towards the Reuben for lunch. Stay tuned.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 10:16 AM) Rios really has a way with words Irony. I thought that was a good quote. It sounded like he taking ownership in saying that he's part of the problem.
  18. Today the board celebrates the return of Thome. Tomorrow the board cries about the Sox hiring another former player.
  19. I was messing around with my old laptop and discovered that the CPU isn't soldered to the motherboard and is removable. After taking a look around, its an Intel Mobile HM57 chipset. It has an i3 380m processor. The socket can support an i7 2630qm. Would the i7 work with that chipset since it's the same socket?
