  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Let's be honest, a healthy Verlander, Scherzer and Fister is a great front 3 for a playoff team. We have Sale pitching courageously on fumes, Peavy on fumes, Quintana on fumes, Liriano and Floyd inconsistent/erratic...you could make an argument with the flashes he has shown that Hector Santiago, even though he's not even in the rotation, could be our 2nd best starter at this point. Sale isn't pitching on fumes. You and fathom take all the fun out of game threads. You're in China. Go and have some fun and get laid dude. Jesus.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 11:13 PM) It's funny how baseball is so much different from every other team sport. It's pretty apparent the Sox are dead, in a funk, whatever, entering the homestretch. But in no way can Robin address this with a pep talk or team meeting or speech before or after games (unlike football, basketball where coaches talk all the time). It would be seen as a sign of panic or of weakness. So he like all managers has to act the same as he does every other day during the season and just hope the bad Sox turn into the good Sox again. The marathon nature of baseball season dictates Robin saying nothing, just making out the lineup cards day after day. Pep talks don't work in baseball because trying harder usually leads to more failure.
  3. lol @ the tone of this thread. No wonder some of you guys are home on a Friday night.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) Wise is in CF, this game is still tied 1-1 and you're not calling Peavy garbage. DeAza in CF is playing like garbage, that much is true. Meanwhile, the White Sox hitting .241 on the road and looking to be dead in the water with just one hit. Bad hop prevents Ramirez from making a play, but he probably would have been safe anyway at 1B. Most CF's are going to play deep with Pujols at the plate. I don't have a problem with ADA not catching the ball. He should have cut it off though.
  5. This is when I really wish I could just mute Hawk. Shut up with your cliche crap you say all the time.
  6. Liriano just doesn't know how to pitch to contact. He gets no easy outs. He's like a good basketball player that never gets to the foul line. It's pretty, but not all that productive.
  7. Does anybody get the feeling that Hawk doesn't like Coop? For all the salivating he does for anything White Sox, he doesn't talk much about our biggest asset.
  8. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 04:31 PM) Alex has dogged it on a number of occasions. And just because I want to take one last shot at the asshole in Miami, there has been quite a culture change with the team this year and with no one has that been more apparent than with Mr. Rios. Specific examples? I remember a couple times when he seemed like he was moving in slow motion in CF, but nobody has ever proven to me that he wasn't trying. Contrast that with AJ and PK who never run out pop ups and grounders, but it's never brought up. Or, when Lillibridge lost us a game in CF last year, and he was a cult hero. My point I guess is that some guys unfairly develop reputations they don't deserve. Hell, Rowands a great example too. He had a reputation for his effort, but it was the result of being a bad CF. He was diving all over the place because he never got a read or broke the wrong way. Sorry for rambling. I like Alex Rios.
  9. Outside of 1 or 2 plays, I've never seen Rios dog it. I'm not sure why he got that reputation. Meanwhile, AJ and PK dog it on nearly a daily basis, at least once, and have the reputation for playing hard. Baseball's a strange sport, I guess.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 12:20 PM) Having to work during this game is just not cool. One of my buddies, a Kittens fan, offered me his tix, but I can't get out of work.
  11. You know why I was never worried? The Twins f***ing suck.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 02:21 PM) Wish Ventura would leave Crain out there for the 9th as well. Sigh. This is a perfect spot for Reed to gain some mojo.
  13. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) Unfortunately, I bet HR goes back to a 4 inning pitcher who walks. 6 and gives up 5 runs next start. Letting that homer happen was the worst thing we could have done for his confidence I don't think confidence is Liriano's problem. He has a problem repeating his delivery.
  14. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) My goodness his stuff is amazing today That change isn't fair.
  15. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:19 PM) You are such a coward. Dye was okay. He was one of the good ones.
  16. Marty's next target: Donnie Veal, Liriano or Septimo? Did he hate EJax? I don't remember...
  17. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) Beckham might be the new Uribe. Low average, nice number of hrs and ribs From the bat last position. And great D. I'd take it, but he's not nearly as good of a defender and doesn't produce in pressure situations. Uribe really came through in high leverage AB's.
  18. Why are Hawk and Stone talking about Beckham like he's some kind of success story?
  19. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) I take offense to this comment. And? You're just here to troll anyway. KW, Ramirez, Viciedo... hmmm.
