I would too. A couple things I noticed were that his ch to LH hitters has more tail and his ch to RH hitters has more drop - obviously exactly what you want to see. Based on the highlights, he certainly looks like he throws harder than the gun reads and the velocity is consistent up or down in the zone. The more I watch, the more I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, but I also try to be optimistic about these things.

10 minutes of Thorpe highlights. From what I can tell, he has a couple of different variations to his change up. He may not throw hard, but he really makes hitters looks bad.

BTW, in 140 minor league innings, Thorpe has a 12.22 k/9. He has to be doing something right.

He's also shown elite patience, he's already moved to A+ and he's 19. I like Law, but he's the king of hot takes in the baseball community. Keith Law really like attention.

Generally, it looks like Getz is taking a more fundamentally sound/high ceiling approach eg Thorpe and Zavala. I'm not going to complain about that.

His slider was his worse pitch and his contact rate in the zone went up.

Cease doesn't throw a change up. Of course velocity is going to be more important for him. That doesn't say a lot about Drew Thorpe though.

Greinke's best year was 2015. His vFA was 92.3. Greinke's interesting as there is very little velocity separation among his main pitches.

Garlands career vFA was 90.3 and his vFA with the Sox was 89.8.

I wasn't counting LH pitchers.

Radke, Greinke, Maddux, Lincecum, Hoffman. Baseball history is full of elite pitchers that sat in the low 90's with elite changes and excellent command.

It's probably the 70 grade change.

God damn it, I love Cease, but now I have to root against him simply because Caulfield is so damn obnoxious.
