  1. So despite all evidence and findings proving otherwise, you're still ready to send the guy to the Gulag? Seems Fascist, tbh.
  2. So, there was due process, he was cleared by MLB, and you're upset about his intro song, something his teammate may have done on social media, and further claims by the person he was cleared of abusing? That's really bizarre.
  3. Clevinger was cleared by the league of all wrong-doing and hasn't had any issues while a White Sox, correct?
  4. Message boards are just dying. This board used to be fun even when we sucked bad because there were a lot of funny personalities.
  5. Wait until you hear about Crede, Rowand, AJ, Buerhle and Anderson. Those guys were hammered drunk their entire White Sox career. Buerhle even pitched in the World Series hammered.
  6. This is pretty much every baseball player though. Anybody who has worked in the bar industry around the West Loop and Lakeview can attest. Ball players are out every night of the week.
  7. If you can't laugh at Jerry making fun of the absolute evil piece of human s%*# that is Mitch McConnell, your priorities are all fucked up.
  8. I understand that. The Sox aren't the Cubs though. When the majority of your games are at night, do you really need a bunch of bars in the neighborhood on a Wednesday night? The Sox have a marketing problem. Really, they have a winning problem.
  9. I don't know the economics behind it, but I would think competent ownership would prefer to play in a stadium with established infrastructure in proximity to the Loop, South Loop, McCormick Place, Pilsen, Chinatown, Bridgeport and NW Indiana would be preferable than a faceless ball mall in a suburb with no identity. I could be wrong though.
  10. San Jose is an hour from Oakland. If the Sox move an hour from Chicago, that would be an absolute shame. The White Sox have been a part of the South Side of Chicago for 115 years. It's part of the franchise identity.
  11. A lot of the A's issues have been with the city specifically, and it's inability to fund and support an MLB team. Chicago doesn't have that issue.
  12. It's far, far easier to navigate around GRF than the UC or Wrigley on game day. There are more roads, e-ways and train lines. There are just way more choices. Red Line, Green Line and Dan Ryan expansions were all built with the stadium in mind.
  13. They're really not bad. Damen is a mess on Bulls game days and concerts. Clark and Addison are a mess on Cubs game days. The Red Line is a disaster for every non Cubs fan on game days. It's the nature of large scale events. 35th actually moves well all things considered. Transportation to GRF is better than both of the other sports stadiums in the city.
  14. The comparison to the A's is kind of absurd. Oakland has a population of 440,000. It's twice the size of Aurora, and it's a dump.
  15. The Sox don't have to be top 10 in attendance to be profitable for the franchise and the city. People have the wrong mindset. The Sox are never going to be the Cubs, and that's okay. It really doesn't matter. It would be a travesty for the city, especially the South Side, to let the Sox move. The Sox have strong branding and a somewhat strong identity. Bridgeport is a great neighborhood. Transportation to the stadium is outstanding. Just win some damn games consistently.
  16. NYC has become a massive outlier amongst American cities over the last 25 years. We both know that. You're still 3x more likely to be murdered in New Orleans and St Louis and 2x more likely to be murdered in Memphis, Cleveland or Baltimore.
  17. By that same logic, if you take Englewood and Austin out of Chicago, it would be the safest big city in the country.
  18. It's really unfortunate that White Sox fans propagate this myth. The city was more violent in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Bridgeport, specifically, is a far better place to live, or watch a game, than it was even 20 years ago.
  19. This really doesn't seem all that complicated. People are hit by bullets that were shot up into the air all the time. It was probably fired up into the air around the park, descended into the park and ricocheted off a couple people. Even in a loud stadium, you aren't going to have a gun accidentally discharge in the bleachers and have nobody hear. It's just really dumb luck.
