Sox acquire Lance Lynn for Dane Dunning and Avery Weems

This is one of the most Chicago things I've ever seen posted here. ? -
Sox sign Adam Eaton 1 year, $7m plus option

The additions of LaRussa and Eaton make such a likable team incredibly unlikable. -

I forgot about that. Man, I can't stand this dude. -

Abreu seems pretty laid back and nonconfrontational. I could be wrong, but TA seems like the catalyst for this team. He seems like a natural leader. Abreu seems much more like a father figure type. -

I haven't read every post. Has anybody talked about how Lynn's presence takes pressure off of Cease and Kopech? I think that's going to be a huge plus. 1 year of Lynn might end up being far more valuable than a few years of Dunning despite what WAR dictates. -

On the surface, I'm fine with Eaton. He's regressing badly and he sucks, but I think we only need a competent RF that can catch the ball. Offense won't be hard to find in this line up. What I am worried about is a disruptive presence in the clubhouse. I want this to be the kid's team. I want it to be TA's team. They have a ton of fire, and I'd hate for some brojockdude like Eaton to mess up the chemistry. -

People will forgive good players. The problem with Eaton is that he's an asshole and he absolutely sucks. -

It's like the Sox are actively trying to make us hate them. -

Trust me, I do. Maybe 100 posts over the last 5 years. So does everyone else. Lol. -

Hold on, why are people mad about this? ? Dunning is a 4 at best. This site is toxic af these days. -
The last 2 episodes have been awesome. I wasn't a big fan of Dawson cast as Ahsoka. I prefer a smaller, and faster version. Not a fan of the dark troopers either. Way too Age of Ultron for Star Wars. Otherwise, everything was great. I can't wait to see Thrawn and for Bo Katan to get the Dark Saber.

Official: McCann is a Met, $40/4 years
TaylorStSox replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm more than happy for him, but I still don't know how good he is. I wouldn't be surprised if he fell off the face of the earth just as much as I wouldn't be surprised if he became a perennial above average player. -
You really assign that much value to a pitching coach? Rodon was constantly hurt. Fulmer was flaming out in the minors. Cease is still a kid and Lopez always had red flags and a live arm. Cooper's obviously a mixed bag, but I wouldn't look at any of those 4 pitchers and place the blame on a single person as their issues were all unique. Hell, Cooper spent so little time with Fulmer that he probably doesn't remember his name.
-
Hold on, you've already given up on Cease? ?

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
TaylorStSox replied to Jose Abreu's topic in The Diamond Club
No Phil's or Freddie's Twitter accounts? Sad. -
Moncada and Robert hitting to their potential makes up for Abreu. I'm fine with Pederson, but we don't need to go crazy here.
-
Obviously I'm not ptatc, but I think the fear with Kopech is he gets too much leverage on every pitch. Everything he throws is nasty, and it's too hard on the body and too hard to harness. That's also what makes Cease so intriguing. Cease is nasty without even trying. He just has no idea where it's going.

You guys will hate this, but I would be much more in favor of Snell if Coop was still around. Coop knows his lefties, and Snell would be a perfect candidate. For people who know Snell better than me, is it a change or slider? I haven't seen his grip. The movement looks like both. It also looks like he has a bit of a cutter. I haven't watched much of him. His stuff has me very intrigued.

I wouldn't say a higher ceiling, but a better chance to reach his ceiling. Kopech has generational stuff. He's the epitome of high risk/high reward.

I haven't liked this season at all. Looks great, but the writing is so formulaic and I'm just not digging the serial nature. Ahsoka is my favorite Star Wars character though, so I'm in for the long haul. Obligatory:

If we get Springer and no starting pitching, I feel like the 90's Indians.

Reinsdorf may be an overly loyal asshole, but the Ricketts are racist piece's of shit. I'll stick with Jerry. -
