  1. Our years of playing baseball are irrelevant. We don't play for the Sox. The Sox performance is completely out of our control.
  2. I actually liked watching Palka because he was so bad that reached fun bad status.
  3. @Look at Ray Ray Run Also, remember that guys like Moan4Yoan are trolls that are actively trying to make your enjoyment of sports miserable.
  4. It's about sharing time and enjoying the experience, not winning or losing.
  5. I'll try to address this without being a total prick. When the Sox decided to rebuild, I immediately dropped my expectations and put zero emotional investment into the outcome of games. The only things that caused me any kind pain were Kopech and Hansen going down. Those 2 injuries made me reevaluate my expectations. I thought last year was fun and enjoyed it more than any season for a long time. I didn't care whether they won or lost games. Those outcomes were irrelevant. I enjoyed the season because of Moncada, Anderson and Giolito becoming elite players. This year I care about the outcomes of games because I expect them to compete. I don't expect playoffs, but I do expect around 85 wins. Regardless, I'll have fun watching Moncada, Gio, Eloy, Robert, Anderson, Cease, Kopech, Reylo, Madrigal and Mazara. Generally, the older I've gotten, the more I've been able to prioritize life and not let sports affect me emotionally.
  6. It's not like your experience is unique. Most of us just grow up at some point. Carry on.
  7. Oh for christ sakes, stop being so dramatic. There's literally zero ROI in sports fandom. It's dumb and illogical by nature, no matter how you want to romanticize it. If it was logical, we'd all be Yankees fans.
  8. And it will go up this year because the vast majority of Sox fans are excited and the Cubs suck.
  9. The Sox don't owe you shit. It's entertainment. I also don't ask the theater for my money back when the movie sucks. It's voluntary.
  10. I don't even really like the front office. I'm just grounded in reality about 2 things: A. The White Sox as a franchise. B. When more than half of your starting pitching prospects suffer career threatening injuries, you might have to reevaluate the time line.
  11. I've kind of lost track of all their rebuilds. Luhnow might also be banned from the sport for how they did it. Fingers crossed.
  12. If we win the wild card this year will you stop crying?
  13. I don't think they need a plus bat in RF to be competitive and can afford to take a lottery ticket on a once big time prospect who's still 24. I think they'll have plus bat's at C, SS, 3rd, LF, CF and possibly 1st and 2nd. That should be a good offense already.
  14. The Astros rebuild took forever and they were cheating the whole way. The Cubs were extremely fortunate and have made some absolutely miserable moves to try to stay competitive. We aren't the Astros or the Cubs. I'll wait until about 2023 to tell you what I think of the rebuild.
  15. I'd rather use that money to lock up Moncada and Gio and keep that window open for a bit longer. I'd rather build a winning franchise than have "a window." Making sound investments seems like a better way to do that than signing Nick Castellanos.
  16. We also know the Astros are the cheatiest cheaters to ever cheat. The Cubs produced like 1 of their own pitchers. What am I missing here? 2020 hasn't even happened yet.
  17. Why does it matter how they got here? The Astros best pitcher came from Pittsburgh. Should that be a ding on them? Should I add another asterisks?
  18. The weird thing is that literally every Sox fan I know in real life is excited about next year. Yet, I come here and there's a group of posters that go out of their way to ruin everyone else's fun. They've driven a ton of good posters away and now the site just kind of sucks. It's a real bummer for some of us that have been around for a long time.
  19. My bad, I thought we were talking about complete players. Nevermind.
  20. Some of are just grounded in reality. Did the Astros have so many pitchers go down? I honestly don't know if they had their number projected 1 and 2 go down. I don't know if they had their projected closer go down. I don't know if they had their MiLB pitcher of the year go down.
