If it was my team, he'd be getting AB's every day rotating between C and DH. I still think we're in the developmental stage though, so we can live with his struggles.

Tonight's game showed why Abreu can't be our 1st baseman

You can't be serious, can you? -
I just want them to make good movies. Of the last 7, they're 1 for 6. That's not nostalgia talking. If it was, I wouldn't think that Rogue One was fantastic. None of the rest are actually good movies. I guess Solo and TFA aren't terrible, but Solo is a standard, mostly lifeless, Hollywood heist film with all the typical plot points and The Force Awakens wasn't terrible, but it was hollow and not at all engaging. The Skywalker saga just needs to end already. #spacehorses

Solo is like TFA in that it's so vanilla, that it's not offensive, but it's not good. It's just not terrible - the new bar for Star Wars.
-
I thought Rogue One was actually really good. The rest has been total trash. The cast of characters in the ST is so lifeless that I have absolutely no investment in their story. Star Wars has lost all it's mystique. Retconning Palpatine is one of the most desperate things I recall in any series. I say this as a person whose office is almost completely decorated in OT memorabilia. The Mandalorian looks fantastic. I can't wait for that.

It's gonna be a long off season.

If we took an arguably top 10 player in baseball and moved him to the OF, 20 years from now we'll be talking about how it was one of the dumber moves in memory.

Chicago writer adds Q, R.Hill and Hamels to FA want list

Given Ryu's injury history, I'd be absolutely shocked if the Sox even gave it a second thought. It just doesn't fit their m.o. -

I like the idea of Hill bridging the gap to Kopech. More than anything, I'd like a dependable pitcher that can eat innings, add stability and be a veteran presence. Preferably a LH. -
Rumor: Reinsdorf aims to build second place teams
TaylorStSox replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
There are exceptions to everything. I just wouldn't speak in absolutes about money being the only motivation for all free agents. That's nonsense. There are a lot of secondary things to consider, and the Sox strike out in just about every one of them. Bad ratings. Bad attendance. Generally small fan base. Playing in the shadow of another major team in the same city. Boring neighborhood. Boring stadium etc. -
Rumor: Reinsdorf aims to build second place teams
TaylorStSox replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Sox have come in second place a number of times over the years. When players are looking to brand, they have to consider the team they play for. Playing for the second team, in the second city, could potentially cost players millions of dollars in endorsements. -

That's not the only thing that matters though. Obviously. -
Nice. Don't you have another move? It's the same thing every post. You cry about every post. Say the internet is weird, and then do it again, day after day after day. Apparently, telling people off on the internet makes up for what probably goes on in real life.

Jose Abreu and Robert had never been to America before. Signing intl free agents and signing MLB free agents is a totally different thing. -
You picked a fight with me. I don't even know who you are.

Better luck tomorrow. Maybe try being sober and not having a weird vendetta. I'm pulling for ya.

Rumor: Reinsdorf aims to build second place teams
TaylorStSox replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think the Sox have actively tried to compete, they just haven't been good at it. They're kind of in a weird spot. They're not an attractive team for free agents, they're kind of middle market, and they're usually not bad enough to draft in the top 10 (over the last 20 years.) It's basically the MLB version of 'NBA hell.' It seems like they've tried to balance that by being creative, but the moves haven't panned out. Obviously they would have been better served to invest more into development than trying to catch lightning in a bottle. -
I have no idea what you post, tbh. Seriously, I have no idea where you stand on any subject. You're pretty insignificant. Sorry.
-
So now that you've sobered up, you're gonna start crying about me? Get a grip, dick.
-
What in the hell does that have to do with anything? Don't try to change the subject. We're talking about you here.
-
If you're going to take credit for discovering the greatness of Fernando Tatis Jr way before anyone else, you're gonna have to take an L for Puig.
-
Most of us don't obsessively create and update threads about 6 WAR players and say they're a GOAT.
-
So now it's 2 years? Don't blame me. You're the one that wants to take credit for Tatis. The Puig stuff was batshit, and we told you at the time.

It's too bad people don't realize following a sports team is a completely voluntary form of entertainment. The team itself has absolutely no obligation to you as a fan.
