He still has a lot more untapped potential. He just has so much going on at the plate that's its going to take longer to develop than most other hitters. He also has more upside than the vast majority of hitters.

I'd say his ceiling is 35-40 homers and a .400 obp. He has an extremely good eye. His hit tool isn't great though.

If there's one thing I've noticed, evaluation of a minor league catcher's defense is usually really bad. People simply don't know enough about what they're seeing to make a proper evaluation. Catcher is a very nuanced position. Collins might not be a future star, but to say he's a barely above DFA level is fucking absurd.

Collins has a lot less pressure and lower expectations. Yoan was really in the spotlight. I think people realize that Collins is a work in progress.

Then rest assured. Yoan has 14 fewer k's than Harper this year... and he's way better looking. He has 15 more k's than Machado, but in about 25 fewer PA's.

Yoan is also way better looking than both Harper and Machado, so the ladies are probably liking the rebuild too.

Considering we have several players outproducing both Machado and Harper for about 1/300th of the price, I agree, Hahn killed it in FA too.
