I like his profile stats wise, but it's a bit alarming the same franchise that went with Andrew Vaughn as slugging 5-10" (not even just height, but lack of overall explosion) 1B and Nick Madrigal as once a generation .380 BABIP guy also thinks this kid is a (relatively) undervalued commodity. We don't do well with diamonds in the rough. Hell, we turn diamonds into coal quite often or sell it for .50 on the dollar too early.

Nah, f*** it.

Imagine if that stupid f*** Hahn, managing for his job, had delivered that bad news to JR and started at least rebuilding a bit last offseason, and then JR, active, good owner that he is, was like "ha, you played yourself goodbye thanks for a headstart on the next good Sox team" and then hired an actual good outside GM to run the club? Keep imagining. Eventually you'll land on Sydney Sweeney in bed begging you to motorboat her.

Don't think I can. I know that the first vote for a B was mine and then SS2K was the first C. After that no clue.

I actually think it's a bad deal for them. They aren't in a spot to be trading for Dylan Cease imo. They should have just signed someone imo.
-
Yea, and also there are people that always insist you can only judge a trade a few years down the line. Well, you can do that too, but that's boring.

70 grade facial hair.

He doesn't have a ton of control left that's part of it. He's also a good, but not elite SP. This is comparable to the Quintana deal imo except Q at the time was on a better contract. Teams were never going to give up a MLB ready player (why would they, they are trying to contend by trading for Dylan) so I don't know why some are disappointed by that. I think this is a fine trade. They just removed the 10% chance he gets hurt and they get nothing, that's worth something in itself.

I'll go B I guess.

I'm liking this less. Why the f*** are we filling the 40 man? Can we just cut Maldonado now at least?
-
Give his expected surplus value two top 100 guys for Dylan plus some filler sounds about right. We'll have to see how the filler looks in a few years.

Real MVP is all that backend work the admins did that has the site functioning right now.

quantity has a quality all of its own.

The Thorpe guys sounds like a right handed MB.

Holy s%*#. And that's just one piece. This move looks FIRE.

Bad day for some orioles fans here.

Of course it's steep. There was a frenzy of reports today and it's the Padres. They give away prospects like the guy that takes the dimes out of the give a penny take a penny bin and keeps the change.
-
He won't be traded this year. You can take that to the bank.
-
So sounds like we had a bidding war and Padres won. Let's hope that's what happened.
-
Thanks for the recap. Nice to see some better baseball preseason or not.
-
He's one of the few vets I actually like, so sure. Keep him around.

The official White Sox fluffer.

Put me down as not caring one bit about what position the players coming back play. I want the best consensus prospects at any position. I think I can count on one hand (maybe one or two fingers) how many times in over 30 years as a Sox fan the Sox had a glut of players at one position where someone was blocked. It just doesn't happen.
-
Seems like they aren't even going to entertain the notion of a younger player like Colas or Sosa getting some playing time to start the year. It's not like those guys are super studs banging down the door but it's still off putting to see such a commitment, even so far in spring, to getting vets at bats. Would it really harm anybody to have gotten Colas and Sosa and Ramos and others some more camp ABs against hopeful MLB players instead of going back to the back fields? Whatever. Just make sure some of these guys are getting playing time in MLB by mid summer.

The guy that does the formatting in Excel for these lineups is the only competent person in the org.
