  1. Examples? I'm pretty sure Garcia, Vasquez, Thome, etc would have performed almost EXACTLY the same if Ozzie was say, an astronaut, instead of White Sox manager.
  2. I can't wait to see Sharapova at Wimbleton.
  3. Yes, the world hates us. It has nothing to do with our manager calling people hateful words and being insubordinate.
  4. KW has stuck up for Ozzie in the past, but this recent behavior, not even so much the *** comment anymore, but the whole "I'm not going to sensitivity training" comment is way over the line. Do what the damn commisioner asks and STFU about it.
  5. I was listening to "The V Show" last night at around 3:00 AM, (don't ask), and he did a solid hour and half on straight baseball, and straight White Sox at that! Him and his guests pretty much argued that Mets are the only team in the NL that could even give a halfassed series to the top 4-5 teams in the AL. I have to agree.
  6. Thank you. If anything, we should be caring about Chris Young. Gio is a "meh" prospect--maybe he'll turn into a middle of rotation innings eater, maybe he'll just be a fringe starter or 5th bullpen guy. Young's cielling is much higher, and he's done nothing to change that this year.
  7. I think you're 100% correct. KW will give Ozzie every opportunity to save himself, but if Ozzie continues his escalating bad behavior, then he'll give KW no choice. I hope that Ozzie realizes he's a hell of a manager, and has a hell of team, and that he can throw it all away if he doesn't clean up his act. I just don't understand how a man of Ozzie's intelligence can continue to not realize his patttern of self destructive behavior needs to change.
  8. Perhaps if Ozzie would have just swallowed his pride, apoligized, and then STFU, we wouldn't still be talking about this. Ozzie continues to dig himself a deeper hole, and it's not just this Mariotti incident, it's a pattern of behavior.
  9. Wow, KW has had much more to do with the Sox' success than Guillen. Good post Fathom.
  10. I think they will win around 95 games--maybe a few more--maybe a few less. It's up to the Sox to make sure they take care of business and win the head to heads against the Tigers. It's going to be a great divisional race, and this Sox team seems invincible right now, but a key injury or unforseen problem could quickly make things very interesting.
  11. I don't want a change made yet, and Ozzie would have to completely explode for me to ever want him gone--but if it does happen--Joey Cora is quietly waiting in the wings, and I think he'd make a fine manager. JR loves loyalty and rewards it as well, so I don't think it's that unrealistic they would give the keys to Cora.
  12. Jeez, this thread is actually pretty interesting, lets try and talk about that and not piss all over each other. I was hoping for some good discussion about what KW said, because I think it's pretty damn clear that he's tired of Ozzie's mouth, and if Ozzie doesn't stop making the organization look like chickens***, he's going to make a change regardless of the team's performance. I heard KW's interview on WSCR the other night, and he sounded like a tired man: tired of defending Ozzie, tired of hearing his mouth go off. He said that he loved Ozzie like a brother, but that Ozzie is walking down a path of ruin. I think KW is the only man Ozzie respects enough in the organization (him and JR maybe) to listen to, and an intervention is needed. Ozzie's interview about "getting nasty with the media" and refusing to go to sensitive training just confirms that fact.
  13. 35 guests? TIGERS FANS: Register! We won't bite!
  14. Your head is the sand man. Their DER is .725! Easily, the best in the league. The Sox are 2nd at .710. They are a VERY good defensive team.
  15. Look up the stats Ndgt10, the Tiger's are far and away the best at run prevention in the league, and their defensive efficiency ranking is right there at the top as well. I'm not saying they are going to win at a .660 clip the rest of the year, but they aren't going away. I'ts almost July and they've proven they aren't a fluke. I'm happy, it means the wild card will likely come from the AL Central, no more Yankees and Red Sox.
  16. That's the sort of statement that will come back to bite us in the ass. Tigers are a solid club, and they remind me a lot of the Sox last year: average offense, but lights out pitching and defense, not to mention the whole "charmed" thing. They can go .500 from here on out and win 94 games. That's a pretty damn sure bet for 94 wins.
  17. Yea, we should just not count these games against the NL. Actually, we should just count them as losses.
  18. Although Borchard is having a decent season as a 4th outfielder and would have been much better than keeping Gload around, this was a trade that worked out very, very well. I give most of the credit to Cooper though. Obviously he told KW he saw some mechanical issues that he could work with Thornton on, and Cooper was absolutely right--at least so far.
  19. Where the hell is that one guy with the "Crede sucks at defense" posts. Crede did suck at defense today, and for once, his posts would be semi justified.
  20. Thornton is really working ahead in the count, I love it. Coops mentality has really rubbed off on him.
