  1. Ok..2nd time through, heart of the order...this is the inning. Get at least 1.
  2. Man Farmer and Singleton become even worse when we're losing. Farmer just leads Singleton into saying the dumbest s***.
  3. I really like Widger as a person--but he's a s***ty backup catcher.
  4. alright, sit ichiro down and lets get the bats going
  5. He's in a "platoon" with Jeremy Reed, and in 2005, in 267 PA had an OBP of .287 and an OPS+ of 67. He'd be fine in a pinch runner role, or as a defensive replacement. But he got into 81 games last year. He's trotted out there way too much with better players on the roster.
  6. I feel sorry for M's fans that have to watch Willie F Bloomquist. Nice play Uribe!
  7. Well, at least they are making him work for these outs...
  8. Give me a break Farmer: "A walk to him (Pods) when healthy is usually like giving up a double or triple".
  9. I stand corrected. I thought it did. Maybe it's my aversion to all things BP since a rather bad customer service experience with them.
  10. A big thanks to Bryan Cashman and The Boss as well. AJ with a 5.5 already--that is excellent for him. I think these numbers show just how dominant this team has been so far. That and the RS/RA numbers are looking good too. I believe the Sox have the best Pythag right now as well.
  11. Holy smokes--Thome at 17 already! Jim Thome has passed his 60th percentile PECOTA projection by April 25th. Way to prove the computers wrong Jim! Paging Joe Morgan...Joe.... LOL @ Mackowiak. Mackowiak is the new Timo so far. Whatsup with that Uribe ranking? His line looks OK, maybe it's because he missed some time with injury, and a bunch of SS are ahead of him in PA. Yea, VORP does use defense. I'm not sure what measure though.
  12. What do you mean by "waking up"? Like, you mean they have stopped sniffing his jock? I read somebody said Arow is a perfect "4th outfielder"--ha, that is selling him short. Rowand, by almost every defensive measure, was the one of the best defensive CF in the majors last year. However, he didn't do much more than be position average at the plate. Still, that's in the upper half of CF in the league. He's still a very usefull player, but BA was waiting in the wings, and thus he was expendable.
  13. Uh, I don't think 240/305/420 with 20 HR's is that unreasonable, IF he's an everyday player, making 650+ PA this year. FWIW, PECOTA has him pegged at 18 HR in 469 PA and a 269/329/468 line, which would damn nice to have--and that's just his "average" season according to them. I'm not sure I get the logic here. According to this, I should not "expect" an event that is "very possible" to occur. If something is "very possible" to occur--is that thus likely to occur? It's semantics I know, but I think the two terms are closer than your statement suggests.
  14. Yea, several nice catches in CF as well--the BA bandwagon might just be rollin' 3 deep now.
  15. The continuing descent of Boone Logan.
  16. Great game. I think Thorton might be hurt though.
  17. hahaha, so the Mariner's scorer said he "pitched effectively"--LOL! Dubya needs this guy.
