  1. We get bent over on the strike, bent over on the new lotto, bent over on international academies, we should just rename the team the corn holes.
  2. I know how he left might have turned some fans but I still love Mags and I'm glad he found a home in Detroit and had a legendary moment.
  3. Mike Caruso. The great white hope, and hype.
  4. I'd like this a lot more if we were close to 85 wins on paper than 75.
  5. One of the more lamentable things about being such a sad sack franchise is that (understandably) even the good players will get critiqued and labelled as "losers" at times. It's not fair, but it's predictable.
  6. When he kicked the wall or whatever and missed a couple months was exactly when the Mariners went on their little run. He's got talent, he's also a complete head case. A team like the Braves can probably keep him fairly productive; I have no faith the Sox would be able to keep him healthy, let alone productive.
  7. I'd draft him, how cares if he puts up -3 WAR, if there's a 5% chance he's a useful player take it. 2024 is sadly a throwaway year now so at least fill it with some intriguing players.
  8. There's a lot of interesting guys out there. Especially on the pitching side imo. Hopefully they drop the pretense of competing and bring in some of these names. https://www.mlb.com/news/one-intriguing-rule-5-draft-prospect-for-each-team
  9. Good, keep clearing out dead wood. I'll say that given the s%*# sandwich he inherited so far Getz is doing the (straightforward) but necessary first steps to improve the overall state of things over the next few seasons.
  10. Seems like a good deal for the Mets. The money doesn't even matter to them so they can just move on if he sucks. The White Sox would not do that.
  11. it's a bit of a gamble, but Dylan seems pretty durable to me. TINSSAAPP and all that. Maybe there's like a 5% risk of significant value altering injury. I do think after reading @WestEddy's post that there probably are several good offers on the table right now and that it might just be better to move him now. Among other things you'd clear a 40 man spot and some salary, might allow getz (lol, yea right) to make a good move on the margins that wouldn't otherwise be there.
  12. Cease is worth at least a top 50 guy, plus another top 100 guy, and then another couple a ball lottos. You sure as s%*# hold out for at least that return. If you have to wait until next summer, you wait. His value isn't going to decrease in that time, and at worst it will stay the same, with a good chance of increasing. If you can restock with 4-5 top 100 guys (including Montgomery) maybe you can squint and see a decent team in 2025 with the right FA signings.
  13. lol, what a fucking dumpster dive. Why wouldn't have you just give literally any internal option 600 PA and see what happens?
  14. This guy can't hit. He will fit in perfectly.
  15. I doubt he's much more than a middle reliever the rest of his career but just being on a MLB team long enough to get a few contracts will give him generational wealth if he spends it smartly. He was always a good soldier here and I'm sure he's happy to go to a club that has a shot of winning something.
  16. I assume one year before he retires he will hit 280\340\560 and play 140 games. So there is 4 or so. The other 7 years or so I'm thinking 4 or so total. He's not a good player and he doesn't have many paths to value as a full time DH other than a 130 or so wRC+, and he doesn't seem capable of that with any consistency. Trade him while some better franchise still trusts their staff to get the most out of him. It probably won't work for them or Eloy but someone is gonna believe.
  17. Put me on record as predicting Eloy has 8 WAR rest of his career. At best. Trade him for some A ball lotto tickets.
  18. I've been to spring twice since 2016 and spent hundreds on tickets and merch and concessions at camel back. Prior to Covid I would get tix behind Sox dugout at Seattle every year. Last two years? No mas. Zero. Not even MLB.tv. Forget it.
  19. Stacey King remains an employee of JR. Oof.
