  1. It's very White Sox. we're forever trying to squeeze 10 oz of juice out of 8oz DH types.
  2. Between sosa and talez that was one of the more bush league ground balls to 2nd you will ever see at the MLB level. Wow.
  3. Well if that's his last start Flexen did the job he was brought here to do and he does have some trade value.
  4. Way things are going I think we have the robot strike zone in 26 assuming the trials in spring next year and the following and in the minors go well.
  5. I've never seen a sox CF that gets better jumps coming in than Robert. Going back he has some issues but coming in and to the sides he's the best I've seen, and that includes Cameron in his early prime.
  6. Maybe someone should have told De Bong he's throwing a half billion high fastballs this inning.
  7. figures we finally develop an IF that can hit a bit for average but he can't actually play any IF other than a bad 3B.
  8. Absolutely hilarious that we are protecting him for an ASG inning as we're on pace for 135 losses. Hey, is what it is. It makes sense, we're going nowhere fast watching him pitch a nice inning in the ASG might be the highlight of our season.
  9. The media is dumb. It's a small club and everybody is usually pretty chummy with each other. When someone makes an offer that another GM considers a reach it's not like they just hang up and never talk again, it's just a starting point. Not nearly the stakes obviously but anybody that has ever managed a fantasy team and made trades understands that sometimes yea there's no common ground but usually if two guys are motivated to get a deal done it will get done regardless of how the opening offers looked.
  10. they can, but at that point he's essentially just a rental. and a negative WAR value rental well, that's just not smart roster building. anyways, I'm not going to bother arguing about this bum Vaughn anymore. Hopefully the Sox can get some value for other guys.
  11. Because teams don't want to have to give a raise in arb to a bum like Vaughn who probably isn't even worth a roster spot. All those guys you listed have at least a year or two of sustained success and in a few cases are more than just a glorified DH. Apples to Oranges. Vaughn has zero chance of being traded. The Sox will trot him out there next year and just hope and wish he turns into someone worth a roster spot. Hope and wishing isn't a viable plan, but they will try.
  12. Pretty sure I saw him in Good Fellas.
  13. If you can name me a pre-FA, still on arb negative WAR 1B that has been traded at the deadline please ping me. I'm not sure there's a single one in the history of MLB.
