  1. He's throwing 95 instead of 97, still has no changeup, and whatever stupid ass slider they tried to teach him isn't as good as his curveball was when he came up.
  2. Kopech is going to injury his shoulder with that amount of horizontal movement on his release.
  3. They also have Wonder. Who is a real 8 WAR superstar. Not like the wannabees we have failed to develop.
  4. I don't understand why he needs a rehab stint. Just wait until he's healthy enough to play and activate him. He missed like a week and a half how rusty can he possibly be?
  5. Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to give a shoutout to @caulfield12 on Soxtalk. Their posts are consistently thoughtful, well-reasoned, and backed up with solid evidence. They have a deep understanding of the game and are always willing to engage in respectful debate and discussion with others on the board. I really appreciate the time and effort they put into their contributions, and I always look forward to reading their insights. Keep up the great work!
  6. Sadly I'm at the exact same spot. He's not the 150 wRC+ hitter we all thought he'd be. He's like a 120 guy at best. That's not even worth that much as a glorified DH. If via some miracle of the heavens he manages to stay healthy and hit while out in LF trade him before he reverts back to a pumpkin.
  7. Sorry Lip, I was fucking around with ChatGPT. The AI isn't on our level. Fire his ass.
  8. Rich Hahn's performance as the General Manager of the Chicago White Sox can be evaluated based on his accomplishments during his tenure. During Hahn's time as GM, the White Sox have made some significant progress and have become a competitive team in the American League. Hahn oversaw a rebuild of the team that included acquiring top prospects and developing them into key players for the team. He also made some significant acquisitions, such as signing free-agent pitcher Dallas Keuchel and trading for All-Star outfielder Eloy Jimenez. In recent years, the White Sox have made the playoffs and won the American League Central division in 2021, their first division title since 2008. They have also become one of the top teams in the American League, with a talented and young roster. Overall, based on his accomplishments, it can be argued that Rich Hahn has been a good GM for the Chicago White Sox. However, ultimately, it is up to the team's ownership and management to evaluate his performance and decide if they believe he is the right person to continue leading the team.
  9. Imagine we we had brought in Dombrowski in 2019 and he was given the purse to do what he wanted. Man that's an interesting dream to see what he could have done with the assets (and their assumed value) at that time. Instead you got Hahn bringing in useless coaches, useless MLB scouting, and making piss poor veteran signings and trades.
  10. WordUpThome: HEY GUYS ITS JI OH YOU ALREADY SAID MY FULL NAME I WILL NOT BOTHER FINISHING THAT TYPED PHRASE
  11. Everybody knows my feelings on Nick -- but we have replaced him with below replacement talent and squandered his asset value via terrible trades where Hahn yet again misread the future value of a reliever and veteran corner player.
  12. I mean, does he give a firm handshake? Did you look into his steely eyes and get a flutter? The very fact that he's employed by the Sox and not a successful org is a strike against him. Nepotistic hires haven't worked going on three decades now.
  13. Curious as to why you have such believe in Thome, who from all outward appearances seems to just be another loyalty hire.
  14. The relationship Sox fans have with the Cubs is the exact same relationship MSU fans have with UM fans. It's honestly pathetic. One side is obsessed and the other is like "I don't think about you at all". Let it go guys. You'll be happier.
  15. I'm bored with this team so here's some proposals: Let Sosa and Colas and Burger take their lumps all year. Park Eloy in LF, if he gets hurt he gets hurt. See if he can rebuild some trade value. Same with Moncada. If some team wants to overpay for Robert entertain it but he's young enough to where possibly he could be part of the next good Sox team. Same with Vaughn. Obvious trades are Giolito, Hendricks when he comes back and then Bummer in any sort of package to a contender as a sweetener at the deadline. Open discussions with Cease. See what he wants. When he wants more than JR will pay him (hey we sat down at the table...) you'll have to trade him, but at least entertain an extension. Maybe he's loyal for some reason. Benitendi is already dead wood. Nobody will trade a bucket of seeds for him even. He will be a guy that is on waivers in July and nobody will bite. That sucks. Grandal has value and honestly deserves a better team. See what you can get for him ASAP as he could get hurt again any time.
  16. I dunno man, only one team can raise a banner every year. Winning a pissload of games and denying your rivals the post season seems pretty fun too. Kicking on the twins and tribe never gets old.
  17. Who runs the best franchises in baseball, the Dodgers and Rays? Rick Hahn's college degrees are the least of our problems. It's his ability as a baseball executive.
  18. "team chemistry" is the least of this bunch's problems. 4 of the positions players used today had an OBP over .300 at the end of the game. Several guys we are counting on are already hurt. We have no depth, we have oft injured under achieving regulars. Our bullpen is a joke. Our starters are decent, but not good enough to carry a bottom tier offense. Find better players and "team chemistry" would look good.
  19. I propose trading out our owner, GM and entire FO. I will take an expansion club in Peoria in exchange.
