  1. He should strictly be an area scout at this point, far away from any sort of decision making. But I suspect he is still the original "JR whisperer" and influences decisions about team building and budget.
  2. Kelly should focus on finding the strike zone.
  3. This spot is one of the best italian restaurants not only in AZ, but maybe the US, certainly some of the best I've had. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g31377-d861176-Reviews-Vincitorio_s_Restaurant-Tempe_Arizona.html
  4. Pretty much. He hasn't had the desire forever. Probably the last time he was really engaged was like '08 or so imo. Since he replaced KW with Hahn the org as a whole has just been stuck in neutral.
  5. For sure. Dodgers fans are fun. They will come in numbers and will have some colorful signs and outfits. Camelback as a stadium is fine, it's been surpassed by others, but parking is super convenient there which makes up for it being in the middle of nowhere. You will def want to rent a car, otherwise ride shares fees will add up.
  6. Peddler bar in Tempe is a nice chill beer spot. Tempe in general is nice, good mix of crowds and ages although last time I was there I could still claim early 30s. Not so much 4 years later. I would try and hit up talking stick field it's like a mini Camden yards. Some of the drink and food packages are enticing around the venues but personally I always just bought general area seats and bought concessions. At camel back the ushers are very relaxed buy lawn tix and move around as you like. This year with the WBC most regulars will play more the first week of games so keep that in mind if you are trying to see Eloy or other guys with national team schedules.
  7. Yea big time cold air over most of the west right now. Florida camps will be much warmer, at least at the start of spring.
  8. Cold start to spring training. Most of the west coast is running 10-20 below average highs. Christ. Hopefully none of our guys pull a hammy, we're an injury prone club already.
  9. Can't the team just tell him to f*** off until the investigation is over? Or is that against CBA rules?
  10. I'm actually thinking of going down to spring training, but it's at least partially driven by the WBC and chance to see the games in Phoenix. If I did go to a Sox game I'd boo the piss out of Hahn if I saw him on a back field.
  11. People are really excited to hear Steve Stone defend every s%*# move again? Excited to have him argue with fans and call us dumb on Twitter?
  12. I think my brain no longer works. Or perhaps I'm approaching a level of White Sox apathy in which I have forgotten any history prior to when I was born.
  13. People get comfie, including old rich owners. Maybe 20 years ago JR had a sense of pride around his franchises. Now I don't really think he cares. The JR that created disco demo night, the pinwheel and so on doesn't exist anymore. Institutional rot is a thing, and it reflects itself in things like this renovation, where a strong CEO would have prevented how it was changed for the worse.
  14. I wonder how much he even know what's going on. He's 86.
  15. If they had some propane heaters or fireplaces or something I could see the utility to come in, warm up, get a drink before heading back to your seats. This looks half assed, as with everything they do.
  16. He’s almost certainly going to get paid his contract one way or another. This franchise will have a black cloud over them and he will be a huge distraction until he’s off the roster.
  17. Listening to him talk about Tatis makes me sick. f*** rooting for this guy. Just cut his ass and eat the contract.
  18. Bro, you don't fire the mail room guy if the CEO runs the company into the ground. The buck stops at the top.
  19. Hey man Kenny Williams beat Hahn five in a row at ping pong during the winter meetings and JR just sprung for new paddles.
  20. There's not a fan here, well maybe one or two, on their own hardcore fan message board, willing to give this team the benefit of the doubt. That speaks volumes. You know what, I wonder if they knew about this before the cancelled Sox Fest. When did Hahn know and what did he do? It appears he knew before today, and it appears he did nothing. A few years ago the Internet blew up with this term "fan murdering". I think it describes pretty much exactly what this team has done to their fans over the last two decades. There has been a series of fan murdering moves and it never ends.
