every single one of our young position players has taken a massive step back in true talent. eloy and vaughn look like 2-3 WAR guys at best. Same with Moncada. Robert is around 4-5. That's like 8 WAR right there that just hasn't shown up. Difference between 80 wins and 88.
given that it's affected all of them seemingly it points to a coaching issue.
I feel like Tatis might go down as one of the great "what ifs" not only for Chicago but also SD. He's not going to be a full time SS whenever he comes back that's for sure. If he's "just" a decent RF his value goes down a couple WAR.
I don't know. They have done a lot of testing and imaging I'm sure and have probably ruled out a worst case (life and career altering) scenario. I'd assume they would have announced a press conference if they found something really bad.
It totally could be something like ptatc indicated where it's something they can treat and that is benign other than its effect on him in certain athletic positions.
I just hope it's not something like a brain tumor or something up that area that is putting pressure on areas that shouldn't have pressure when he exerts himself. The dizziness and inability to track the baseball at times in the OF clearly seem related imo.
man this is shitty. really hope it's nothing serious, forget baseball for a minute, just don't have something seriously impacting his life off the field.
we really need to rip off like 10 of the next 12 or so and get into pole position in the division. WC is looking like it will be a dogfight so now is the time to get on pace to win the 88 games that will take this division.
