or around where I hung out Papa Johns and Modalla in 11oz cans. Why the 11 oz cans? I have no idea but perhaps it has to do with the unrelenting sun and keeping them cool. Man there is nothing like waking up at 8:30 and seeing the sun almost directly overhead to someone not accustomed to being so close to the equator.
I don't know I'm not really paying that close of attention to be honest. The season is 50% over. Half the guys you figured you'd get 20 WAR out of you're gonna get 5 if you're luck. There's your 15 wins between 75 and 90 right there. Season's over unless half a dozen guys start playing better all at once without the bottom falling out elsewhere. Doesn't seem likely to me. Maybe 1/3 they make some noise and push for 88 wins. The other 2 times it's 75 to 82 wins.
the players get paid to win or lose so they need to suck it up and go out and perform. it's not a rah rah sport which is why KW's "talk" yesterday seemed so stupid to me. It's a "keep an even keel" sport and other than Jose the Sox don't have many of those types. We have a bunch of headcases and our coaching stuff is out to lunch on how to get the most out of these guys.
As for the fans: good, I hope they are playing in front of 5K in August if they keep losing. Fuck ownership.
Right, theres' a little known rule that if you have a really good player you can elect to have them play two position (so Leury will be SS and 2B) and also bat twice.
that's like the difference between a new car or struggling to pay rent for a guy like that. Happy for all the fringe guys that get a shot, even in a down season for the Sox.
Right, the LaRoche Sale teams were known for their rock solid leadership.
This whole report is dumb. Underachieving teams have bad chemistry, more at 11.
Exit velocity of 112 max, is holding his own as a youngster in his league, and is apparently a LEGIT MLB projectable SS? Great draft pick so far, could still flame out but to get a top 60 asset out of that spot as of today is great.
