  1. Santa's doing good Pedro, Moncada is progressing well.
  2. Just saw the Angels have zero prospects in MLB Pipeline top 100, have a terrible MLB team, and Trout is hurt again. Maybe if the Sox and Angels combined forces they could win 90 games.
  3. Sheets is on pace to start over 80 games in RF. Vaughn is going to start 120+ at 1B. Currently with Robert hurt the team lacks an actual MLB CF and that player (whoever starts) is flanked by noodle arm Beni and a glorified DH. Maldonado and Lee combine to be below average and Debong and Lopez are average or above -- but again, we don't have a legit backup SS, just like CF. Us fans didn't know that Shewmake and Fletcher weren't actually a MLB caliber defensive SS and CF respectively, but man you'd hope the GM and scouting staff would know.
  4. Not a chance in hell of throwing out 90% of MLB runners while pivoting off the line at 3B. Honestly as a lefty myself I feel that catcher is probably the only position currently not played by lefties that would perhaps make sense to try and develop them.
  5. Apparently has a sore back. With a 31 wRC+ and -.4 fWAR he's probably a DFA candidate if the kid is any good at all. ZIPS has really soured on TA's true talent. Thinks he's basically a 1 WAR player at best. He's toast imo.
  6. From the perspective of flipping the SP and maybe a position player or two the season so far has been a success. That's quite the narrow grading system but if it was a pass fail they've at least passed that area. Not sure why people would be arguing otherwise. You can argue about being 18 under on May 13th or something but arguing that the flip candidates haven't been raising their value or holding it is dumb.
  7. That's a nice story but it's insane he played baseball at that high of a level and seems to know so little about it. It's like his brain turned off from 18 when he blew out his arm until late 30s when he got back into it on the announcing side. I have nothing but respect for what Schriffen and Benetti are as people but their relative lack of experience before getting the job and the on the job training is hard to stomach as a Sox fan.
  8. 11: Colson 41: Schultz 57: Thorpe 97: Quero https://www.mlb.com/news/updated-top-100-prospects-list-for-may-2024?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  9. logan allen has nothing and our righties just can't do anything.
  10. Ramos is slumping a bit but he came through with the glove today big time. Important quality for any player to separate defense and offense.
  11. A year ago to the date the Sox lost 1-9 to the Royals to move to 13-25 with a -67 RD. With the win today we are 12-28, while not trying, with our two best players hurt for almost all of it with a -83 RD. Incredibly, we had already given up 232 runs in two less games at this point last year. "Only" 202 RA by our staff so far in 2 more games. That's something.
  12. The late 80s were an interesting time for hair.
