I don't think it's an accident that guys like Eloy Jimenez developed into guys who hit weak ground balls on the time when they're playing for the white sox. Regardless of how much they're staying in shape, they're being told to hit the ball on the ground, so they do exactly that and everyone is stunned when it turns them into terrible hitters.

If MLB were to allow the White Sox to move, they'd almost certainly make sure to maintain the rights to putting a second team in that media market as part of the approval process, so that no small set of teams could block expansion there. Expansion might never happen, but MLB would definitely take steps to retain those rights.

4 teams within 2 games of each other, for 2 wild card spots with 6 to play? And Florida, Washington, and Chicago (AL) are up for a series with 3 of those teams? Only way this doesn’t come down to next Sunday is if someone gets unexpectedly swept, like the Rays taking out the Tigers first. Each of these teams has to think 4-2 or 5-1 is necessary to make the WC.

Detroit has snuck into a wild card spot 1 game ahead of the Twins, so the odds of them needing every win and treating the last series like playoff games are high.

There’s this weird combination of treating his inner circle well and treating everyone else like peons in him that makes me extra ill about him. He could treat his staff better, he could show his customers more respect.

Considering that the other part of this experiment was turning at least one of those pitchers into a useful piece that contributes to the white Sox down the road…I’d say this seems most likely false.
