  1. Well, looking at the stats, once Buehrle got past Buck, he was in good shape. Maybe that decision made more sense than I thought.
  2. Philip Hughes will make his Major League Debut for the Yankees this Thursday. I guess planning to let talented kids grow up only lasts as long as you're not swept by Boston. 15 day DL for Eric Gagne with a Hip Injury. That didn't last long either. Rich Harden and Milton Bradley to the 15 day DL. Man, seriously, I could post these last 2 items and you wouldn't be able to tell which year it was. Jaret Wright and Ramon Hernandez both are starting Rehab Assignments. No One, including his mother or his brother Willie, seems to be able to get in touch with Willie Aybar.
  3. Is the bullpen really this tired? I was out of town all weekend, is there no one who we should consider ready to pitch the 7th? Mark will probably do fine, but still, I don't like how high the failure odds are.
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 06:59 PM) Buehrle? Hopefully Ozzie is smart enough to not give him a chance to lose.
  5. If anyone's going to knock in this run it'll be Uribe.
  6. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) cuz it's a movie just dramatic effect. They wouldn't have been able to walk off with a win if it were in New York. Don't they determine home field for play-in games by a coin flip? or is that a recent change?
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 06:48 PM) That should be Mark's last batter. They are hitting him hard. He's thrown 94 pitches, given up 3 runs in the last 2 innings, bunch of hits and walks, that ought to be it for the night for him, even if the bullpen is gassed.
  8. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 06:47 PM) The term "Exploratory Surgery" makes it sound like NASA will be doing it, IMO. Dr. James Andrews. So, in terms of sports medicine, probably pretty close.
  9. You'd think we'd learn not to put people on base in front of Sweeney...
  10. Mark Prior to undergo exploratory surgery. Honestly, that's probably the best thing for him at this point...cut that shoulder open and take the 1/10 chance or whatever it is that they find something and can fix it. Oh, and Wade Miller is out with Back Spasms.
  11. How about we give Terrero a shot with the big league team?
  12. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 06:02 PM) To be truthful, I am not understand the Anderson love v. Erstad hate. They both have positive and negatives. Yet I think people here forget how miserable BA looked at the plate at times last year and see Anderson as a solution. I just do not think that is realistic. If we get .260 out of CF, most of us will be happy unless it is Ken Griffey Jr. I would agree with that...if I thought we were also getting the best defense out of the position we could. But IMO, that's also not Erstad. Heck, I'd easily prefer Terrero to Erstad in terms of getting this much playing time right now.
  13. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 05:57 PM) It sure did seem like he never hit anything. Though I would say 4 month of no hitting > 2 months of no hitting. Totally granted. I'd just say that Erstad's 6 years of pretty poor hitting should come into the discussion at some point as well.
  14. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 05:55 PM) That's right, he did have that 2 month hot streak. Too bad the season is six months long. As I said, I bloack out much of BA's offense from last year. There's a difference between saying that you block out much of BA's offense last year, which even I'll grant was bad, and saying that he never started to hit, which was simply untrue. He did start to hit, just not consistently across the season.
  15. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 05:49 PM) In a word, yes. Though not completely. Erstad may yet hit this year. Anderson never hit last year. Brian Anderson in: AVG OBP SLG OPS July .313 .328 .469 .797 August .296 .367 .437 .804
  16. How often do you see AJ go 10 pitches deep on someone?

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 04:52 PM) That pitcher's uniform is so 2006. Pretty sure that came from a link I originally posted.
  18. The National Republican Senate Committee's Multimedia Page.
  19. Having driven a couple of sports cars in Chicago weather... I can not fathom why anyone would actually want to drive a rear wheel drive sports car around Chicago from November through April. If you want any power at all, then at least in my experience, the vehicle is not going to be controllable in the type of weather Chicago gets in the winter. It just won't be.
  20. And I'm back from the Tehachapi Mountains in just enough time to join in and say Happy Birthday!

Is not nearly emphatic enough with the "go sox". The baby can't even use caps lock for that? Come on baby!
  22. King Felix has been diagnosed with a strain in a muscle in his right forearm/elbow. 10 to 20 days or so, if their trainer can be believed.
