  1. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:35 PM) How did Erstad look when he stole that base? I assume it was a no throw since it was a strikeout? There was a throw, not watching it though. Erstad is starting to grow on me a little bit.
  2. Getting thrown out by Victor Martinez...not exactly impressive.
  3. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:31 PM) That should do it for Garland. Lets hope the pen can keep them down Garland may come out for the 6th since Marte, a righty, is leading off, but I expect to see Sisco against Sizemore and Hafner next inning.
  4. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:28 PM) I think he and Crede should be flipped in this lineup if he is not going to hit 2nd. With the power Crede showed last year, I really like having Crede in the 6th hole right after the 3 big OPS guys. If Crede's average or power dips or Iguchi can push it towards 30 home runs I'll be wrong, but based on last year's performance, Crede fits perfectly right after whoever hits 5th.
  5. Come on Jon, just get through this inning unscathed.
  6. So, am I correct in saying that Molina has the only RBI on the sox on anything other than a home run so far this year?
  7. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) Is it out of the realm of possibility to think about the Sox making a pitching acquisition at some point this season? Or are we in the same "we've got to win with what we've got" mode that we were stubbornly in last year. Not that I know of anyone that would be available, but we're going to have to upgrade here if this team wants to contend this season and beyond. If we're really, really close in the race, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibilities...but I agree with Fathom that Haeger and Floyd, and maybe Broadway within a couple months, are much more likely and probably better options. But, the way I think about it...if we're in need of another starting pitcher of the quality that will be available on the trading market...we will not be in this race.
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) Just got back from class.. how's Garland looked outside of the second? Poor. 7 hits, 4 walks in 4 innings. 89 pitches, 49 strikes, 40 balls. Lotta stuff up in the zone. He was squeezed some by the ump, but that became less of a concern when the Tribe started hammerign everything. Pitching at 91 mph or slower according to Gameday.
  9. 89 pitches for JG through 4. So who gets the 2 inning performance today? I'd vote we give it to Masset or Sisco again.
  10. Well, if Erstad can keep doing this the whole season I'm going to be much less mad.
  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:01 PM) Fixed that fix for you I think to first order I'm correct.
  12. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 11:50 AM) Chocolate Lucky Charms is some good Sugar... Fixed that for you.
  13. 68 pitches for Garland through 3 innings. 38 strikes.
  14. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 11:48 AM) If i recall correctly, we started 0-4 last year. Lets not jump to conclusions 1-4. We rocked the Tribe in game 1 during a downpour on Banner night. BMac got the win in relief of Buehrle.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 11:34 AM) one year wonder Hopefully those 1 year wonders and all those wins will be enough to make sure both Buehrle and Garland wind up being class A free agents.
  16. Look at the bright side...Garland has brought the average ERA of our starting staff down from 72 to 54.
  17. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) this is going to be a long season if we keep giving up the runs we just got. Somehow it does sound like the wind is playing havoc with a lot of those balls in RF.
  18. Garland being beaten around in the 2nd more than this forum...
  19. LOL. Casey Blake swings on the first pitch after 8 straight balls and flies out to Erstad. Thome swings on the first pitch after 7 straight balls and it lands in the seats. Sometimes I really love this game.
  20. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 11:20 AM) not sure if gameday is wrong or what....but strikes on gamecenter are called balls and balls are called strikes?? I think that the guy running Gameday is making some sort of commentary on the pitch calling. I've never actually seen Gameday do this either.
  21. Gameday has those first 2 pitches to Erstad actually IN the strike zone box. This is pretty remarkable.
