Yeah, with Jim Thome there, it only makes sense to carry a backup 1b man. Although, I still wish Gload would get a chance to start somewhere like Pittsburgh. I still think he could put up really good numbers for a full season if he got a shot.

That is a surprisingly good deal if Eaton stays healthy, and not a terrible deal if he doesn't. I wouldn't be surprised if Meche gets a similar contract, or even more/year when he signs, and Eaton can be a lot better.
