  1. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:59 PM) Tony what I'm saying is Anderson sucks, also. We would have been a much better team with the same pieces of last year. All the additions have been s***. McDougal, Riske, Mack, the list goes on. I think the Thome addition worked pretty darn well. And Anderson got off to a terrible start with the bat, but saying "Anderson sucks" is simply wrong, and 2 years from now, when he's regarded as one of the best CF's in baseball, you'll see what we mean.
  2. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:59 PM) No, we dont have a long man, remember. Actually, the long man just got up.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) It sucks too cause I wish I would have been wrong. Ozzie will inevitably be back next year and all we can do is hope that Kenny finds a way to get some more pitching that will be so good that it will once again be capable of overcoming Ozzie's idiotness. We already have more pitching. It's sitting down on the bench in the bullpen, wearing #55 IIRC.
  4. Hmmm, St. Louis Rams vs. Kansas City Chiefs or Tampa Bay Bucs vs. Jacksonville Jaguars? I'm leaning towards the Rams/Chiefs, any other opionions on what I should start watching here?
  5. Ok, Anderson would have had at least 1 of those, if not both of them. Wow.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Don't forget that Tyner is a slap hitter, so he's going to stay back on the offspeed pitch well. Sandy is just an absolute joke back there. It's no wonder the Dodgers started doing so much better once they stopped playing him. Ok, now I think that one's just not fair. The reason the Dodgers started doing so much better when they changed catchers was that they brought up Russel Martin and dumped that POS Dioner Navarro. They instantly got hot when they put Martin behind the plate in May.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:53 PM) I really don't want to hate Mack because of this either. I love the effort he puts out there, but you can't fault him that Ozzie continually plays him out there. If Rob was hitting .250, we likely wouldn't ahve this problem. For about 2-3 months, I was the same way, trying not to blame Mack for this mess. But I've been hoping for a Mackowiak injury for about a month now. Seriously. We would win more games if Mackowiak went on the DL right now.
  8. I'd say let's just go ahead and concede the loss, but we already put Mack in CF, so I think the concession already happened.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) And Mack misses one in CF. Can't say Brian could have got to it, but I don't know if Rob even saw the ball. I'd say it's about 90% Anderson would have caught that.
  10. Ozzie Guillen loves Minnesota so much he keeps giving them free runs. "Fortunately he avoided injury" - DJ? Not from where I'm sitting.
  11. Hi everyone. So, I just got here, and I have to ask...is Anderson hurt, or has Ozzie just decided we've won enough games this season?
  12. Jose Contreras needs to find whatever he's been missing right now. Otherwise, we may as well start planning for 07. This season is on the line the next 2 games.

    Pointless Facts

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 10:44 AM) ahhh but what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? African or European?
  14. I believe the crime was committed by Bill Clinton. We already know he killed Vince Foster, I'm sure he killed this person too.
  15. If you go back to May, you'll find me asking what the Hell Greg Walker was doing to earn his money. He's earned it since. Crede has finally learned how to hit. Anderson has finally learned how to hit. Uribe got his average out of the toilet. Dye, Konerko have both managed to avoid getting into anything resembling a prolongued slump. AJ has spent most of the season going the other way. Beyond that, there have been plenty of games where the Sox have come in and clearly had an excellent plan for how to deal with pitchers, and that's the work of the hitting coach too. I think the best example of one of those games was the game against Halladay.
  16. Well, ya hate to see it ever happen on an injury, but I guess I can't complain too much about using up their bullpen today.
  17. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 06:18 PM) I missed the first 2.1 innings (saw the DP!), so someone explain to me why Cora sucks this time? 2nd and 3rd, 1 out, base hit by Mack to LF, 1 run scores, Cora sends Gload from 2nd, thrown out at home, Podsednik out, inning over.
  18. Who wants to see Javy load em up for Mauer?
  19. Well, I will say this...if Joey Cora was the Twins 3rd base coach...that run scores.
  20. 2 strikes...now watch, somehow Castillo will still get him to 3rd.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) Vazquez doesn't look comfortable this inning. Hmmm, that's early even for him. Absolutely no chance to stop that.
  22. If Cora hadn't sent that runner, a suicide squeeze would have worked nicely here.
  23. So, when that ball was hit to left field, did anyone expect that the play would turn out any differently than what we saw?
  24. This will likely be the last inning Radke allows baserunners, if history is any guide. We must get those 2 runs home.
