  1. Each series is bigger than the last...at least until we win a few of them.
  2. Jon Garland > You. Jermaine Dye > You. And it really doesn't matter who you are, those 2 statements hold true. Dye needs 1 RBI to hit 100.
  3. Just when you need an out...Neifi Perez comes up.
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) And Cotts could use some confidence. With mauer and Morneau in there lineup it would be nice to have two lefties that we could count on out of our pen. Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooone.
  5. QUOTE(Allsox @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) I agree, let Jon finish them off and give the bullpen a complete day's rest. McCarthy could really use some work.
  6. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 12:42 PM) Jon Garland has been dominating and he is showing that it can be done without having to blow everyone away. trust in your stuff and he does. 36 games left, should give Garland 7 starts or so, will need 5 wins to get to 20...he can do it if he stays in this groove.
  7. All 10 runs today have been scored with 2 outs..
  8. The line on Robertson today...6.2 innings, 10 runs, all of em earned.
  9. .229 for Anderson...one more hit and he's at .230
  10. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) I have seen some production lefty against lefty every once in awhile, but what is this you are saying about the Gooch against lefties? What is his average do you know? I think thatbwhat you are kind of getting at here is a platoon situation and if so I would argue that. Now Pods is in a slump and you do see Pablo more and more, but I don't see him offensively performing at the level he did earlier. He is hitting at a higher BA then Pods for sure, but not as many AB's Iguchi hits about .320 against righties and .233 against lefties this season. So naturally, Ozzie always plays him against the lefties and sits him against righties.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 12:22 PM) From here on out, every new series is our biggest series of the year. If we win/sweep a few series...then suddenly they won't be that big. If we keep losing series/games, then every game will be a big one until we're out of it. If we'd done our job in the last 6 big series, the next ones would be a lot smaller.
  12. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) I don't know why anyone is even bringing the #3 hitter up as far as Dye is concered. Thome, Konerko, DYE and Crede have provided is with some real thunder and then Iguchi, Pierzynski and sometime Uribe to boot. Doesn't matter who is in the #3 spot we have a ton of offense. That doesn't mean we couldn't set the lineup up in a way that works even better.
  13. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) Right now, without a doubt. I'd be beside myself if we lost Dye right now....... Also, I wouldnt mind OZ giving Dye a couple days off in RF, and plug Gload or MAck in there while Thome's gone to give his leg's some rest. maybe this will finally convince Oz that he belongs there Rob Mackowiak is only allowed to play CF, or LF late in games. You know that.
  14. Singleton literally gave that an "Uh-Oh" :uhoh
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 11:59 AM) Another nice inning by Jon, but more importantly the defense is really playing well today, the bats have came through with timely hits and well the pitching has been there. Through 5 this is what I'd call winning baseball. I have no idea if we hold on, but this is the way the game was meant to be played and watching it thus far has been a thing of beauty. All of a sudden it seems like we suddenly care about winning this game and are trying hard. It's remarkable how good this team can look when that happens. Just watch, Tomorrow, Javy will get touched up for a couple in the first or 2nd, and suddenly they'll look asleep again.
  16. Thus far, we're playing a dynamite game. Anderson taking 3rd (not to mention that catch), Dye taking 2nd, Garland getting over to 1st there...we're at least getting out and hustling.
  17. Man it would have been nice for Konerko to have moved Dye to 3rd.
  18. AJ...they're walking people to get to you now. Think about that...then think about Left Field.
  19. So, according to Singleton, there was a sign on the bulletin board this morning, um, "Suggesting" that the team needed to be more aggressive on the basepaths.
  20. (2 Runners get on base) OG: "Come on Jon, just one more!" (Ball grounded out to Crede) OG: "There we go. Good job Jon. Hey guys, look, a pitcher got out of an inning with men on base but no one scoring" FG: "Man, this is some good s***." JV: "Snore"
  21. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 11:37 AM) BA vs LH's 121 ab's, .207,1 hr, 8 rbi. VS Rh's 156 ab's, .237, 6 hr's, 23 rbi's............ Exactly. So obviously, when there's a righty on the mound...BA should sit. BRIAN ANDERSON CAN NOT HIT RIGHT HANDERS. AND WE HAVE TO REST HIM UP FOR WINTERBALL.
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) Actually BA is a much better hitter against RHP. You think I don't know that?
