  1. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) JG is a 5th starter at best , I am tired of all the excuses for Garland he SUCKS besides 1 good contract yr, time to call a spade a spade. :puke Yes, he sucks right now, but that doesn't change the fact that last year wasn't his contract year. He earned a contract by pitching well last year, he wasn't a FA at the end of the year though.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) Or maybe it's because most contending teams don't have absolutely glaring holes this early in the season. I'm pretty sure la la land is thinking that things are fine with what we currently have out there. Are you serious in thinking that most contending teams don't have holes? Hell, the Yankees spend $210 million a year and they still have f***ing gaping holes on their team.
  3. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 06:41 PM) At least we will get to see Tracey. Not so sure, he started like 3 days ago, might not be ready to go yet
  4. Good, I was tired of seeing Garland's ERA go down.
  5. Garland just can't keep the bed dry no matter what he does any more.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) Yes Pablo in @ 3rd?
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) Crede has a lower back injury. Lets hope it's not like last year's lingering injury. The last thing we need is another lesser bat at the bottom of the order. Is he out of the game?
  8. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) I am not defending Cora for being retarded, I am just saying for some reason it seems to have worked out more often for not for him. I bet if he gets 5 or 6 people thrown out at home in a few game stretch he will be unemployed. Hahahaha, yeah right.
  9. Both pitchers have thrown 52 pitches through 3. Why do I feel like Rogers is suddenly settling in?
  10. Garland pulling a Loaiza 04, just can't keep the ball in the park.
  11. Tigers doing a good job of working the count on Garland early.
  12. Pods and Iguchi are just killing us right now.
  13. It would be really nice if Pods could string a few slap hits together.
  14. Ok...Paul...good work, but you still have a little more to do to catch JD.
  15. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 05:19 PM) Pods likes groundballs to the 2B Iguchi with another backwards K Those 2 have both really been off lately.
  16. 19 pitch first inning, mainly due to Granderson. All right Offense, let's take care of business early and make this easy for everyone.
  17. It's worked the last 2 days, let's see if it works for Jon. Irod is in the lineup for Detroit. Thames starts in LF for Monroe.
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) Yeah but he's no Mark Prior. And the Twins couldn't be happier.
  19. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) I find this post ABSOLUTELY obnoxious. I actually think the GOP in Congress is, on the whole, a lot less "puss" than their Democrat counterparts. I think that the Republicans instead are suffering from a great rift, as I've mentioned before - social conservatives in one corner, small government conservatives in the other. And so they end up ineffectual. Having a Republican President who is just awful is the third leg of the trifecta. Add them together, pepper liberally (pun intended) with some corruption and smarminess, and you have your 2006 Congressional Republicans. IMO, you missed the key group...the big-business folks, who don't give a rats ass about social conservative causes or about smaller government, but only want to line their pockets and don't care who pays for it.
  20. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) just curious, but what do you think the asking price is? Brian Anderson + 1 other top-line prospect at the least. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) A little off topic, but this is from the SI article from earlier in the thread. If they'd take E Santana for Crawford, they'd take BMac. I don't like the idea of trading him but hell, if you could land Crawford and his contract, do it. This team cannot trade BMac without getting pitching in return. Augustin Montero would move up to our #1 righty setup man.
  21. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) This team either needs Anderson to get untracked pronto, or they need to find a suitable CF pronto. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him go down to AAA, get a few hits, suddenly find his stroke, and find himself right back in the big leagues.
  22. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) At any rate, does this do a ton for the Ravens? I don't see McNair getting a superbowl ring with this team. Comes down to a couple of things. 1. Is that Defense still capable of shutting people down, or is it getting too old. 2. What can Jamal Lewis bring to the table? The Ravens don't have the strongest O-Line in the league, or at least they didn't last year, and I don't know if it'll get much better. Their Defense was #10 in points per game, down from a few years ago during their dominatnt years. But their offense was 24th in the league in yards, and tied with Houston for 25th in Points. If their Defense can hold together, or get better with Ngata in the middle, and Jamal Lewis can return to form, this could literally be enough to push them over the top. But as you can tell, that's a lot of If's, especially as Ray Lewis gets older.
